Rock Band Hero (Guitar Hero IV) Announced

Other instruments are apparently getting the Hero treatment, including vocals. The fourth installment of the franchise will also let players jam along with local bands from their area.

"It's not just about guitars," Kotick says. "We'll include a lot of other instruments, vocals. It will help us expand internationally. It's the first game we've had in which we can use local content and local bands."

Oh yes, it's not just about the guitars in a game called GUITAR HERO, oh HEAVENS NO.

cracks me up that if they do this, they eliminate the ability to put instrumentals in the songlist, and Cliffs of Dover was far and away the best charted song in GH3. the awesome instrumental tracks was about the only "Pro" that they had over Rock Band, and this will likely eliminate that. awesome.

if someone at Activision or Neversoft bothered to play RB once, they would realize that Harmonix charts songs better than anyone at Neversoft likely ever will and they they shouldn't bother trying to do the same exact thing as them and out-quality them. but why bother trying to pave your own road when you can just follow someone elses, right?

as long as they allow the other instruments from rock band to work (which they wont) it might be worth getting... otherwise they better think of something new to incorporate

Great, I can see it now. Activision tries to do this multiple instrument game, fails, then goes after Harmonix with money to try and buy the Rock Band name.

Guitar Hero Aerosmith, Guitar Hero On Tour, Local Band Hero, Bass Hero. It's funny because all this shit is in the span of 6 months, if even that. Way to kill the game. It's almost as bad as Halo.

if the drum controller isn't as shitty as the harmonix drums and doesn't break all the time, I might pick this up (just for drums) for the challenge. would be great if there was djdao drummania ASC support, because then I wouldn't have to adjust to 2 different set layouts...

If any of you ever took Guitar Hero for a game that would rip of other concepts from other games, especially after Activision acquired it, you're ten shades daft.

Dude, who cares if people that play Guitar Hero don't play guitar? I play IIDX but I don't go out and try to be a DJ. The only time I would see it mattering is if the person that plays GH picks up a guitar and thinks hes the shit because he can pass every song on expert.
