Marketplace Rating: 0 | I was skeptical at first thinking they were just gonna do a cheap rip of beatmania, but after watching it on stage @ E3 at activision's booth, it kind of makes me ashamed of Beatmania. I mean Konami's had years and years to try and innovate the beatmania franchise, and the only thing they did was add more songs every year and 2 more buttons from regular to IIDX. It's become quite similar to how Koei's handled the dynasty warriors franchise.
I enjoy IIDX a whole lot (hell I bought a DJ dao controller) but DJ hero looked damn refreshing in comparison. I'm actually impressed with the innovations and the play style is much closer to actual dj-ing. Plus DJ Shadow collaboration is win

I'd like to play it. The actual gameplay doesn't seem like it totally jives with me (too much wikky wik, and thinking about the fader and stuff), but we'll just see.
I think I'd like to get my hands on the soundtrack.
With that said, Scratch looks like it's set up quite nicely for failure.

What sets apart DJ Hero and Beatmania [generally] is that DJH is about scratching [TWO SONGS] and beatmania is about pressing keys with different sounds to the music[ONE SONG]...yeah?
I am not sure where to pre-order DJH though...either through redocatane.com or GameStop in-store....hmmm...that bugs me a lot!
If I get it from redoctane, I might have to wait an extra day[after release]
If I get it form GameStop...I am still paranoid from what they did with SOCOM: Confrontation...totally pissed me off!
oh yeah, and Game Stop might[will] add in tax....
so what are you guys doing?

so what are you guys doing? | I always preorder via amazon to avoid tax and often release day shipping
I am slightly curious to see what the special edition will have. Since the game is only $120 as opposed to my $400 DJ dao controller, the price seems right.

can't remember though!
but wow...
what mash-up from DJ Hero that has been 'shown' stands out?
for me it's mostly the Benni Benassi vs Black Eyed Peas Even though I first heard the Gwen Stefani vs [I'm]Rick James[BITCH]... ... I like it when they mix that lady's voice from BEP...sounds natural to do that for some reason!

I mean, the song list seems fantastic, so that's out of the way. But it just doesn't seem all that true to what DJing actually is. The crossfader, from what I see, doesn't actually function like a crossfader actually functions in relation to scratching and the game just seems a little piss boring to be honest. Music games are becoming really been there, done that lately. I'm tired of hitting scrolling notes, I want something Konami hadn't already done in the 90's and that doesn't mean just slap on a new controller and call it a new game. FreQuency and Amplitude brought something NEW to the table. I want something to come along that looks at music games differently again.

If you pay very very close attention, when they move the crossfader to the side, only the music from that side plays...
if you knew what a crossfader does, then you would've noticed that...

how much was the entrance fee anyway? | It's closed to the public, industry and press only. If you're non qualifying press/industry then it's like $400 for a pass. Real talk.

Fuck this game. Yet another excuse for retards to call beatmania a "DJHero ripoff" just like they've been doing with GuitarFreaks.
| Show me a guy that does this

Just show people proof that this is true and you will see results
At the end of my groups Power Point Presentation, I tossed in all that stuff....I asked my group if I can add a little bit more history in there...they they said yes!

DJ Hero:
SO what are you ppl gonna do on DJ Hero launch?
I got permission from the land lord[fuck the manager, she says no to everything] if I can host a party[pending request]....I am really hoping that stand alone turntables are available on launch so I can have DJ vs DJ...if the landlord says yes[she is thinking about it...]

Twiddle, Crabs, Orbits, Fades, they're all the building blocks of scratching; and they're ALL about crossfading technique. If the crossfader, to use YOUR words, "acts like it's supposed to act" in DJ Hero, every scratch in the game would be Scribbles and Spins, which is just about the only scratch you can do without moving the crossfader. The scratches in game are, from what has been shown, HIGHLY advanced techniques, and they should be coming from the turntablists who provided them. They obviously are not just Scribbles and, as such, would require the crossfader in-game to act accordingly. Which to my knowledge and from the videos I've seen it doesn't.
