That's just off the top of my head, but I'm sure a lot of the shop songs are newer things.

seriously, do we really need to start another "If only <insert favourite band>'s <insert favourite song> were in Guitar Hero" thread... we already have one here

That Shadows Fall song was amazing. I think it was by them... the light that blinds... I think it was... I dunno. and TROGDOR.
/r/ Three Days Grace and Metallica (One, Fade to Black, or the Unforgiven)
That would be cool. Or Ohio is for Lovers. Just for laughs.

Besides, Beast and the Harlot is awesome fun to play on expert. I agree, though, TROGDOR = win. Specifically because it references a virtual world. And Strong Bad is awesome.

And to everyone suggesting super-duper holy shit fast double bass wickety wickety wickety waaaaaaaaaaaaaa metal songs, not everyone appreciates that music.
Guitar Hero will mostly be mainstream music until there is an edit mode implemented. However, due to Konami's DDR Edit Mode patent, it is unlikely to ever publicly be released.

Blink 182 is not hard, nor are their guitar riffs epic or complex in anyway. In fact, its simplicity is rubbish compared to that of...say a Metallica song (pick any old school one you'd like). If ur not down with Metallica, thats fine. Point is there are many other bands which have much more creative and complex riffs than bands such as Blink 182, or a handful of other mainstream bands nowdays whose lead singers sing with pre-pubescent voices.
I like the motif behind the songs decided to be in guitar hero 2 as alotta of em bring back memories of rock and metal i listened to before. i look forward to future titles. WHAT THEY NEED IS SOME "IRON MAIDEN"-TROOPER.....PLEASE!!!!!!!

Yea, I'd stop playing if had it Emo and Pissasspostpunk *coughblink182cough*
yea, I thought Wolmother, freezepop, the Indie stuff, thought that was all pretty new.
I guess that everyone's just listen to to much Shit to find good Modern rock.
Now Dragonforce, THERE is some good, GH ready Modern Rock. I'd lover to see The Von Bondies on there, they're one of my biggest influences. However easy there guitar is, they just rock it.
By the way, please stop watching MTV.

P.S. Dragonforce is metal, not rock.
