Question GH2: Was It Worth The Wait?

I understand that today is the release date for Guitar Hero 2.

For those of you who own it, do you believe that it was well worth the wait?

From what I've been told, there is going to be a Co-Op Mode

(I suppose in light of DDR's versues mode style--or is it more like a

2-player doubles?]

I just recently played "Guitar Hero 1" [last week to be exact] for the first time.

I was somewhat impressed.

My first song was "Take It Off" by The Donnas (YES!)

My second was "Take Me Out" by Franz Fernandad (Good stuff).

I could play through both on "Easy" but when I tried

"Take It Off" on Medium--I got my ass kicked!

My best was 29% through the song.

And here is a person who can "B" Maxx. I guess Eye Hand and Eye Foot coordination really are quite different.

One thing that I think is a good and challenging thing is that if you miss a "Freeze Note;" unlike in DDR, it takes your life bar down little by little.

In fact, the 17th-something time I practiced my 'Wiggling' skills on "Take It Off"

I got PERFECT all the way through the song only to "die" at the very end because I let go of the "strummer" and I watched--horrified might I add--as my life bar went from "green" to "yellow" to "red" to "Out!" [Fail].

I believe that if the same "Freeze Penalty" was true in Dance Dance Rev that is in Guitar Hero, then there would be A LOT less people "Hopping" on the freeze arrows.

Anyway, what did those "ravenous gamers" who HAD to have Guitar Hero 2 so bad the day it came out, they had to go "Pre-Buy" it 2 weeks before release? (like my friend Justin Webb here in Valdosta,GA)

Well? Somebody let mae know! ^^

Take care!

-Tiger

i dont see how you think your DDR skill has anything to do with Guitar Hero but

the 2nd Guitar Hero installment poses a greater challenge and a new song list so if you are a lover of the first game there is no reason why you wouldnt want to get the 2nd

guitar hero 2 is only worth buying if you got bored because you were getting 95/100% on bark at the moon/expert. if you thought that was hard, i've heard that about 5 songs on expert are harder than that...

now i have to decide between that and a wii...

Just got mine today and it is absolutely amazing!! I can't believe how much better it is then the first GH. It is way more challenging and the tracks in my opinion are way better than the first game. Many expert songs that i have played are way more difficult than bark at the moon on expert. The new freezepop song was incredibly hard and fun to play. So in all, yes, it was worth the wait and every penny spent on it.

I actually thought BatM Expert was harder than all the songs except F*eeB*** and J***an. Mainly because of the hammer ons/Pull offs being incredibly easy to do in the second game.

Overall, YES DEFINATELY WORTH THE WAIT.

Now knowing the fact that I've absolutely enjoyed playing Guitar Hero, I purchased Guitar Hero II upon it's release. I think it was without a doubt, worth the wait. Although the song list in Guitar Hero is slightly better in my opinon, Guitar Hero II would still not let down the fans of Guitar Hero.
