People have commented about the lack fo difficulty in the game, and I can see where they are coming from. The ability to use Star Power makes any face-melting solo a moot point, so it is possible to cruise right through the song list.
That said, it doesn't last long but it's awesome while it does. The songlist is pretty damn good, though they are all covers and some are obviously better than others (I still can't figure out how they manage to get Ozzy almost spot on but butcher Alex Kapranos).
The general feel of the game is such that it really does make you feel like some kind of rock god, especially with the crowd that is both visible and quite audible. They even start to clap when you use Star Power.
The songlist is really a huge deciding point. It's very concentrated in the rock and metal genres (and by "very concentrated" I mean all of it is so). Check the songlist first. If you like what you see, you probably won't regret buying it. Otherwise, I'd keep looking.
Also, if you're some kind of key-burning IIDX vet, you'll probably scoff at the difficulty, especially with the aformentioned Star Power. You don't really get crazy patterns until the end of the Expert line.
