"NO STAIRWAY" may in fact be a clever Wayne's World reference.
I was tickled to see my fav guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan appear in GH1 as well as my fav band, White Zombie. It kinda sucks having someone else play SRV, though. He was best live (depending on what version you hear, he does a cover of "Voodoo Chile" that's better than Hendrix). I wanna see more WZ songs, but the only Guitar Hero-worthy songs are "Black Sunshine" and "Super Charger Heaven". There's also a Megadeth song called "The Scorpion" that I absolutely cannot get enough of.

It wouldn't be a terribly challenging song but it would be fun to play.

I'd like to see Beelzeboss by Tenacious D as an encore.

This thread is filled with failing. People suggesting things like Rammstein, SoaD, and so on... this is GUITAR Hero. As in, there should be some guitar part that isn't power chords repeated ad nauseum.
And metalcore is something we don't need, not only for the above reason, but for general suckage as well. See Brian Posehn's "Metal By Numbers" to understand my point.
And it's not really fair to include a Dragonforce song in there, when the band can't even play it themselves (see live performances for proof). Otherwise, I will tolerate one power metal song. There's nothing wrong with a little cheese, but beyond that...
I agree that we need an AC/DC song in there. A Steve Vai piece would be nice, as well. Bon Jovi for the classics, Billy Idol's "White Wedding" for a beginner song...
And if there's going to be an Iron Maiden song in GH3, it had better be "Hallowed Be Thy Name." Boss song, of course. It starts off simple, but once it hits the main riff... boom.
Les Claypool's "One Better" could be an interesting addition, or some similar Primus song. We can almost expect another Megadeth song, so I'm guessing Devil's Island, although the opening trilling part may be a bit overkill. Kick the Chair might be a more likely candidate.
Meh, I'll think of some others later on.

"Chop Suey" - System of a Down
- Can you say "stupid"? This song can scream it.
"Burnin' For You" - Blue Oyster Cult
- I'm still not sure whether I like this song or "Godzilla" better. "Flaming Telepaths" is also good...
"Heaven and Hot Rods" - Stone Temple Pilots
-"Trippin" was put in 2 because they didn't want to put tracks like this one in (See also: "Sour Girl", "Interstate Love Song", etc...)
"Bullet With Butterfly Wings" - Smashing Pumpkins
-It's a good song. I swear.
"Song 2" - Blur
-If it weren't for Gorillaz, this band would still exist. And the world would be better for it.
"Mudshovel" - Staind
-The drummer is from my hometown (?), and this song has 'balls'.
