Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits

Guitar Hero: Smash Hits (originally called Greatest Hits, but was changed) is going to be a compilation of 48 songs from Guitar Hero 1, 2, 3, & Rocks The '80s. The songs will be updated for the World Tour engine, so each song will have full band support, plus each song will be a master, so no covers. The game will be out June 16th & will be on PS2, PS3, 360, & Wii. The confirmed song list so far:

5/6: '80s & a bonus Aerosmith song has been added, thus the entire songlist has been revealed.

well i think neversoft/activision hold the rights to the entire series so it shouldnt be an issue

they bought out redoctane, who owned the namesake and everything related to it. they can do whatever the balls they want with it all.

Damn, Activision are actually doing a good job with milking the franchise this year.

I didn't care about Aerosmith or the DS game.

But Metallica and this have actually caught my interest.

Lol well it's good to see I managed to get a couple of those right.

And the fact they were getting original recordings come as no surprise, given that they might not want to deal with Harmonix/Wavegroup now.

I'm wondering which character and background art style will be used in this game. Personally, I prefer the look from GHII more than the recent versions of guitar Hero. If there was a total overhaul of the character engine, however, I think a cell shaded look like the intro movies use would rock (pun intended)

Oh, & while the game will support "GHTunes", other downloadable content will NOT work w/ GH:GH. You can't use any of your World Tour downloaded content w/ Greatest Hits & you can't transfer any of the Greatest Hit songs onto World Tour.

Ya know, considering it's going to include 48 songs from 4 games, perhaps it'll have 12 songs from each game (but then again, that'd be almost 1/2 of 80's song list). Just a guess, but I doubt it'll happen.

I'd like to know how they're choosing these songs. Let the consumer choose since they'll be the one buying it.
