Guitar Hero I or II?

Tomorrow, im getting one of the Guitar Hero games. Rock The 80's is already ruled out, and i think i like GHIIs songlist more, but im just asking for your opinions.

if you had a choice to get GHI or GHII, which would you go for?

I'd say Guitar Hero II, because the venues are better, the last song is more epic, the bonus tracks are better, the new multiplayer modes are really fun to play, and it's just a better game overall. The only problem is that I prefer playing as the last game's Grim Ripper, but I never really cared for the characters in GH anyway.

I think that guitar hero I is very fun and the bonus songs in my opinion are far better than the bonus songs in GH: II. Like the song "Even Rats" was a pretty cool song with a good note chart. But guitar hero II is also fun too. Hard decison.

GH2 is the way to go. Very fun songs and COOP mode is really really neat and isn't in GH1. Also, the learning curve from Medium - Hard is way more challenging = longer playing times to get better

Oh yeah and good songlist too

Get Guitar Hero 2 its much better then 1 cause you can play different levels then your friend but guitar hero 1 has better songs.

Wait a month and get III.

But if you just HAVE to have one, get II. It's about a buttload times better than the first one. Co-op, song list, difficulty ramping is really good...

It's a great game.

I would say to wait and get GHIII so you'll have the wireless completely backwards compatible controller, then get GHII.

GHII blows GHI away in everything. The songlist is amazing, and it's got a lot more songs than GHI.

The best way to decide is look at the songlists for both, and see which has more music that appeals to you.

GH2 has a better tracklist overall(especially the bonuses), but GH1 has some stellar(pun intended) songs that shouldn't be missed either.

If he had a 360, I'd just go for that version and 1600 Microsoft Points to download some of the song packs.

But since it seems like he's going for the PS2 version... well, get GHII still.

Yeah right now for the ps2 if you absolutely need to get GHII. Overall it has a variety of rock songs, better replay value in unlockable songs (X360 can download songs). I have both and I prefer GH II because it seems better to play with a group of people. Also since you don't have either, its better to get GHII since it comes with a guitar included, then when you get GHIII you can already play in multiplayer. One more reason to like GHII is Freebird (longest GH song so far)

if you like playin solo and one friend get GH3 but with couple friends wait and get Rockband i looks kickass
