I think it's funny that the 4th (6th counting on tour and Aerosmith) game in FINALLY includes other instruments when guitar freaks had more instruments by the second game AND the drums weren't severely dumbed down.

And I think it's funny that they're incorporating other instruments into a game called Guitar Hero, which I would assume by the name would be about playing guitar, not drums.
And I believe bg_hojo is right, there'd be too many notes, the game would freeze up. :P
actually i meant it more along the lines of doubting Create a Song being "Chart songs saved on your system" and more along the lines of the Remix modes in Frequency and amplitude, only from scratch (which would explain the "no vocals" thing, because if they had the programming wherewithal to make the game capable of removing vocal tracks from CD rips...holy shit). this means that in all likelyhood, we get to download the musical creations of the GH fanbase...i can't wait...
and there's no way the notes would overload the game. imagine the reaction from GH fans if they couldn't create notecharts consisting of god awful messes!

Well, actually that wouldn't sound half bad. I LOVED FreQuency and Amplitude's remix modes. Even though I think I'm sitting this one out in protest (honestly, this shit is getting too stupid. The drumset looks like a Fischer-Price toy and Activision was always the red headed stepchild of video games in my opinion), song creation has some potential.
This game is strung out and overdone at this point though.

I'm going to hold off on judgement until I see some gameplay videos, and know what the difficulty is going to get up to.
I can only hope that they keep the challenge level up, as Rock Band was pretty easy on Guitar compared to GHII once they went multi-instrument (drums were pretty challenging, as were some of the vocals). GH3 just had a really crappy difficulty ramp, but I LIKED how hard it got. I love a challenge.

Yeah, I agree that Rock Band guitar is pretty simple. They have come out with a few decently hard ones with the DLC when it comes to solos, but that's about it, nothing too difficult though.
Yeah, Green Grass and High Tides is supposedly SO HARD, but I 5 starred it first try with no problems. That's why I stick to Guitar Hero for guitar, it's harder. It's not hard, just harder. :P
