(even though the air rocker isn't actually a game peripheral...)

...I don't think they took enough songs from RB2. But maybe I'm wrong and RB2 took them from Activision? Or maybe they had NO idea who was doing what music wise. Ok maybe not TOO many, but still enough of the same songs on both games. And honestly, I'm a little disappointed in this song list. Good thing I'm sticking with RB2.

The drum kit didn't even work, on top of being set at the lowest sitting option and having the drum sticks wrapped in cloth. it felt pretty sturdy, but i didn't even get to play drums on top of the drum sticks just being large wooden cylinders.
the guitar is actually pretty sweet. i only got to play one song (Everlong) and iuno, i like the setup and feel of the new guitar. I haven't gotten to try out the new RB2 guitar, but I'm hoping to change out my LP and RB1 Strat for the new guitars per each game. Being a lefty, I hit a lot of buttons I should have and that fucking knob gets in the way a lot more. The SP deploy button is a nice touch as well.
as for the gameplay....it's Guitar Hero 3 graphics with Rock Band gameplay. Not much to write home about there and I'm sure you all have extremely vivid imaginations
all in all, it will sell because it's Guitar Hero, but I lost my faith in this franchise when GH3 was released. I don't like Red Octane or Neversoft projects, so it was a pretty easy choice to avoid this game. Getting to play it for free really helped ground my choice. All of the celebrity appearances and advertisements are a big turn-off for me as well, especially since they always rag on people for "selling out." If you like Guitar Hero and you like Rock Band, you'll love this game. If you like Guitar Hero but don't like Rock Band, then you'll LOVE this game. If you don't like Guitar Hero but you like Rock Band, stick with Rock Band. Like Guitar Hero 3, this game is for the kids that like an insane challenge. The fun factor is great, but once the difficulty starts to ramp up, it gets sucked out of the room pretty fast. There was a short demo version of the music thing, but i didn't have enough time to check it out. You'll all be able to see it in full tomorrow or at midnight tonight. I'm sure you'll have a good time playing this game.
ps - pause the game or accidentally hit the XBOX or PS Button. Hands-down the best feature of the game when you go back into the song and something EVERY SINGLE MUSIC GAME EVER has lacked.

Total Tokens: 1,719.67 Donate Tokens | I'm going to get it because
A. I like Guitar Hero and RockBand, and plan on getting both, however the price of Rock Band in Australia is ludicrously expensive, GH: WT's still bullshit but doesn't seem like a completely randomly high number.
B. I want to have a full experience on both games, as I plan to get one band pack, and get the other standalone.
If I get the Rock Band set, the GH: WT charts will be compressed, however if I get the GH: WT set, it will only be a slightly confusing layout.
C. I know Rock Band has badly-manufactured instruments, while I've heard of many Drumsets and Guitars being bad out of the box, I haven't heard of Guitar Hero instruments being badly designed from anyone who's played it, they might wear out over time, but that's better than instruments that have had a year to be improved for Australian shores, but have just been left.
Once I finally upgrade to a 360/PS3 I will probably just stick to Rock Band because of the amount of DLC available and more tracks every week that HMX have upheld since launch, but will probably buy the game on it's own and get a GoodWood set with a Destroyer Pedal.
EDIT: Disregard, just checked Scorehero, crappy drumset confirmed, just skipping to get a GoodWoods for PS2/PS3.
EDIT2: GODDAMMIT, GoodWoods aren't selling the plug 'n play kit.
Screw this, might as well just dish out for more Bemani.

I've had WT for all of two days and I think I'll be trading it in or selling it the day after tomorrow. I've never been so disappointed with a music game purchase in my life, even when compared to BMUS or the time I lost getting the Beat'n Groovy demo.
And I'll be using any money I manage to get back outta GH:WT on RB DLC.

Only reason I ask is because I was actually thinking about getting it. I would definitely take RB over GH any day but I like a little variety.
