High Speed isn't needed for IIDX either. 6th Style has a tatsujin on it of LISU playing V[a] and getting an A or an AA with no high speed mod.

Guess what? That doesn't prove anything. He also did MAX 300 HS3 Hid+Sud but that doesn't mean that "seeing the notes isn't required for IIDX."

Actually, I remember him saying he could have done it blind folded at the time. That's kind of my point, though, and the MAX 300 example helps to strengthen it. The real skill is in hitting the actual notes, not reading the chart, so there isn't any reason not to use speed mods.

It's sorta like C200 OR C400 in Stepmania, which is when it slows it down into readable steps, but same beat. I use it for fun when I'm bored mostly, kinda hilarious to watch myself try to clear Jordan with hyper speed on though. Hehe.

Harmonix putting it as a code and calling it a 'cheat' when you put it in was a bad move, but it shows America's general view (as with playing 2x note on Supernova) that modifiers = cheating. i plays 600 bpm's + if its below 400 i suck badly.
