Default Lag settings?

Salutations Gentlemen.

I'm just curious as to what the lag settings you guys are playing on.

I'm currently playing on an LCD and fiddling with 6-10 MS on the video lag, Although of course its still off.

I think if I get an idea for what other people are playing on it might help. Whats your lag settings currently at? I can't really tell too much unless i'm in really heavy scratch sections, and most definitely on the cross fader cuts.

I'm having a rough time dealing with lag calibration as well.

Ironically, I'm having the worst trouble with rapid taps, which is pretty hilarious considering my main music game of choice is IIDX. It just feels either too late or too early and I can't get it matched just right.

I'm using a crappy Westinghouse LCD TV with the following settings:
Audio: 111MS
Video: 25MS

My audio is being pumped through a 5.1 receiver, if that makes a difference.

Oh, on EMPRESS my settings is -3.3

Boom Tap was where I noticed that I was having a problem. If your video lag is at 111, I think you need to recalibrate because that sounds WAY off. The first time I calibrated it gave me a high number like that and I was stunned, because my GH lag is set to around 20ms.

I calibrated twice and got 50ms and 69ms Video Lag, but 0ms suits me the best.
I was quite frustrated playing with 50+ms so it must mean I played the calibration minigame poorly.

Quite honestly the GH/DJ Hero lag calibration system has always sucked. Rock Band's is much easier, and much more accurate. It always feels like the Activision calibrations are using a strange beat.

I'm almost tempted to go buy a refurbished rockband guitar so I can use its automatic calibration feature to pull the correct numbers for my setup.

You think those numbers will work fine in DJ Hero?

Rock Band 2/Rock Band Beatles guitars did, yep. You held it up to the screen and it had a small light sensor and microphone that would pick up flashes of light and somewhat loud beeps and calibrate the lag to those.

You can try those lag settings, but I couldn't say whether or not they'd be accurate.

My calibration ended up getting set like this:

Audio: 133ms
Video: 67ms

Which I know isn't really right. So I think I'm just going to copy my auto-calibration settings from my Rock Band 2.

Are you on an LCD sakura? You should post what the calibration comes up as once you use a RB guitar :P:P

so far Im at 110 and 25 - and its.. BETTER... but fast button streams I still miss on which is pissing me off...

Especially on the daft punk mega mixes.

Yeah, I'm on a 47" LCD. It's the only good TV we even have in the house. The one in my room is way too small to play much other than DDR on. I'll let you guys know what comes up when I calibrate with the RB guitar.

Hi all,
I'm starting to think that this game's controller has some serious lag issues. Just like the ps3 original Les Paul, does anyone remember that?

Surely lag calibration is totally useless for me, I constantly get values in the range of 100ms/100ms but with those settings the timing is totally off, 0ms/0ms works much better and apparently is allright.

Still, I'm another one having big issues with fast button tapping, and sometimes my combo breaks on tapping or scratches for no apparent reason, even in basic mixes.

I'm playing on a ps3 btw, it would be interesting to know if these issues are system related.

since GH3, they've just used larger timing windows afaik. i know the lag on my monitor is 4ms, but i guess i'm gonna have to do some serious playing with the lag settings. i never bothered to calibrate the game, and i too noticed that the overly simple Boom Boom Tap was a huge struggle.
