Question about Cult of Personality

I have heard both versions of the same song (on the 2-disc Rock CD, and the other from Guitar Hero 3) and can't tell the difference between those two songs. Lyrics and pitch is exactly the same, so why did Neversoft use the remake version and classify it as 2007. What year did the original Cult of Personality debut?

Update: Forget the last question - it debuted in 1988 (I saw it on YouTube). Just answer the others if you know.

not sure, maybe it may be because they had to re-do the master tracks, like they had to do with the who in rock band (thats EA, not Activision though).

The original master track was lost, so they had to redo it. Also, the solo is longer.

Like Anarchy in the U.K. as well? That too was re-done as a master track.
