Are you kidding? Do you have any idea how many 13 year old kids play GH at home that have never touched/heard of DDR? Having experience working at an arcade, I saw SEVERAL kids come in for birthdays and what not who saw GF/DM and thought it was GH. Once they found out that it wasn't they walked away. When I say several, I mean at least 10 a day on a busy day.

Now, imagine if those kids came into said arcade for a birthday party the next year and found out that they did in fact have GH AC set up. Not only would it bring them back for more, but they would also bring their friends, who in turn, would bring their friends. It's the butterfly effect.

Now we have an ass load of 13 year old kid's crowded around the GH AC machine waiting to play. The wait is long and oh look, there's an empty old school Beatmania 5 key machine, or GF/DM or shit even a DanceManiax machine sitting right next to it untouched. Why not play one of them to kill time whilst waiting for your turn on GH? Who knows, maybe the kid likes the other music game he played, maybe he doesn't. The fact is, it still got potential attention it wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

In short, not only will this hopefully revive the dying arcade scene in the US. But it just might have enough impact to promote other music games to the US arcade front that owners would have been reluctant to purchase in the past.

whether or not guitar hero is at an arcade, a 13 year old kid will have a good time, parents set up birthday parties at them for a reason. Now because the kid couldnt play guitar hero doesn't mean he's going to completely hate his arcade experience, it's a kid, kids like video games. Also i don't expect a 13 year old to know what gf/dm is, once you get to the older crowd (the actually rhythm gaming crowd) i expect them to be the ones playing the game. If a kid did see that game or beatmania or whatever whilst theyre waiting, whats to make them want to play a game that is blasting some japanese song instead of something like house of the dead or a retro fighter, both of which wii and xbox arcade are bringing back. So after the youngins bedtime the same crowd will be there. There are still cliques so dont expect the frat boys that like to get drunk and play guitar hero after a homo-erotic bashing of a pledge to their newest copy of matchbox 20 to show up and the local arcade (which is a good thing)

Betson: "What? eAmuse? This is a video game, not some sorta deep or important shit. Who'd want to play against other people online, save scores, or unlock stuff?"

Konami: "Most everyone who has used it."

Betson: "Not good enough, goodbye sir!"

Heres a good question.

or question(s)

1. How much would it cost to play it?

2. and why waste money on that when you can just buy the game for a little less than what youre going to spend at the arcade

1: depends on the arcade I suppose

2: you play DDR and Pump. Do you really need to ask that question?

Last I checked you can find Ignition's for around $50. I've had one for four YEARS of abusive playing and it still works great. So, yes, it is the same in that you go to the arcade for that certain experience that you just don't get at home.

i never said an ignition wouldnt last (no matter how abusively you play), but ive played on them too, you cant really compare an ignition to a pad on an arcade machine, they are not the same at all, the one at the arcade is better in just about every way (as long as the place takes care of it). as for the game, if you dont have a pad hooked up to stepmania, the home versions all have less songs than the arcade whereas the gh cab will have less than the home versions... so basically were both too stubborn to budge on the topic and i guess im done trying to convince you otherwise... So anyway, im in the same boat as you expressolan, i just cant see a good enough reason to play this.
