Meh I loves my GF ASC and Converted Arcade Style Drumkit gone controller, but I'm still really pumped about this game.

OK so GF/DM did it first. We all get it. We can stop pointing it out now. Unfortunately its 2007. I know I'm getting super bored with the limited music/interface/session/online play/downloadable content etc. etc. that Konami has to offer. Rock Band, while not at the level of technical complexity that is GFDM, is doing a lot of things right that Konami just isn't converting on.
For the sake of this argument we'll completely ignore the fact that Konami doesn't even have any domestic offerings for this game

.
Hell Guitar Hero is the music game thats taken music gaming to the mainstream in the US. When was the last time one of the most anticipated E3 games was a music game?
As for the drums... keep in mind that Konami doesn't even offer a low level arcade controller. Comparing the Rock Band drums to the topway controller..... welll... comparing the Rock Band drums to the Yamaha drumsets ($$$).... well..... I think you get the idea

.
All in all, learn to appreciate what both games bring to the table. Did Guitar Hero and Rock Band totally jack Konami's idea? Sure as hell they probably did. But the fact is, Konami has some catch up work to do, because in my humble opinion, Harmonix/MTV/Activision/Neversoft/Yourmom/Konamiwillsue is completely improving upon Konami's model, especially if we focus on here in the states.
Don't get me wrong, GF/DM will always have a special place in my heart but, they seriously need to start improving on their model for this franchise. It's easy to see their focus is on IIDX (lol 15 alreadyz?) and Pop'n
