Default Rock Band PS2

Anyone else admit to playing Rock Band on the PS2? I'd love to play it on a next gen system and spend even more money on downloadable content, but I'll have to settle for spending even more money on update disks since I have no next-gen system. I don't have an HDTV either, though I did take my PS2 to my sisters house and played on their HDTV - the PS2 version looks pretty good on an HDTV via component cables. It's 480p and widescreen. Anyway, the game is still great on the PS2.

I put my set together piecemeal. Used game, used mic, new drums from amazon, my existing GH2 guitar.

i bought rock band for the wii this morning. it's apparently very similar to the ps2 version, which makes sense. i'll gladly admit to owning and playing it on the wii, it seems more like a rhythm game and less like a dress up dolly game. i have played rock band on a 360, and while it looks nice, the silly character stuff is a time waster for me. it's more like an actual rhythm game without the fluff on the wii (and ps2 i'm sure). all the stuff that happens in the background is purely prerecorded video, and it's fairly obvious at times, but i don't mind one bit. iidx is fairly similar with the notes on the sides and a video playing.

i do wish there was DLC though. here's to hoping they add the feature to the wii in the future, since it does already have online capabilities.

Well, I wouldn't mind having the dress-up stuff, but the key thing is that the core game is a lot of fun. If you haven't played it multiplayer yet, that's something you've got to try - that's where the game really blossoms. A really nice thing is that you can play with complete beginners and it's a lot of fun for everybody. One thing to note: if you're playing with younger kids, just be aware that some of the songs do have lyrics worthy of the T (or, depending on your viewpoint, perhaps higher) rating.

oh i love the game. i played it multiplayer on the 360, and the character customization stuff just wasted a lot of time... you got 4 people wanting to 'spend money' shopping for different clothes, tattoos, etc... i just wanted to play the damn game! =)

playing multiplayer (local) on the wii was a lot more to the point, of course.

i really hope they end up enabling online multiplayer, or at least DLC. i'll probably buy the expansion discs, cuz i'm a sucker.
