Default are there any sales figures for the japanese release of guitar hero 3?

I'd like to see how well the game sold in a country that KNOWS it's not the first guitar-playing game, so, anyone know places that have some sales figures for it?

12,211 (PS3 version) + 5,055 (PS2 version) = 17,266

For comparison, Guitar Freaks and Drummania V3 = 18,568

GFDM V3 in ten weeks (same amount of time GH3 was out in Japan) = 16,233

WHOA. That's pretty freaking nuts. They outsold GFDM in their own country... I honestly didn't expect that.

Take into consideration GFDM was one ONE system, while GH was on multiple. Imagine if GFDM was on other systems.

well, that and I assume that a lot of players in japan don't get the CS releases because of how awesome the arcades are over there...

Those figures are only for two systems though. You think adding one more system would make that much of a difference?

I'd go with price over that reason.

I'd buy a home version over the arcade any day for price.
it's either like $60 for lifetime ownership, or like $60 for a few months of regular play.

Then add in the cost for the peripherals, sir.

Also keep in mind a lot of Japanese apartments are pretty small. Why pick up a game with a large peripheral when you could just waltz on down to the arcade and buy something smaller for your house?

Still, it's quite surprising and even impressive that it did have those sales when compared to GFDM. Especially when considering the fanbase that Guitar Freaks does have, I kinda expected that GH3 would be somewhat alienated.

15k isn't really that hot, when you consider that it's broken 8 million in the states.
