Unresponsive Buttons

I'm starting to notice something going wrong with my Turntable controller.

The buttons on the TT are becoming more and more unresponsive the more I play. First day they were great, but now they seem to only be registering about 80-90% of the time when positioned in the lower left quadrant of the turntable.

This area is my "home" position where I tend to reset after scratching and what not. However if I turn the table anywhere else, the buttons work just fine.

Also, my turntable has gotten awfully squeaky over the past two days and it's losing some of its ability to easily free spin.

Anyone else starting to notice this with their controller?

I'll admit I hit my buttons probably far harder than the usual player, and I probably also apply more downward force than I realize on to the turntable itself while scratching.

edit: Well I just tried playing a multiplayer match on Expert for that Tiesto track, and halfway through the song my buttons just completely dropped all form of functionality and left me with only being able to access the buttons on the mixer.

That was interesting...

Im having a similar issue - but a bit different.

My controller is actually starting to misfire during long green scratch sections. The other buttons will just pop and it will drop my multiplier. Its happened multiple times throughout my sessions today

Another issue is that while I'm scratching - If I have a rewind ready, if I scratch some really fast sections it will trigger the rewind for no reason - even though I didn't even spin the platter 45 degree's. : (

....Not cool.

This has happened to me at least 3 times yesterday.

Well, the buttons on my Turntable have completely failed today.

5 stars Activision. 5 stars.

I guess I need to ship it to them since the Gamestop I picked this from refuses to swap it for another.

Wow another problem with Activisions peripherals? Glad I held off on buying it until next month. Maybe, that is if you can open the turntable and see if there is a problem internally that you can fix. I did that with a beatmania turntable that made squeak sounds when I scratched. Maybe its similar?

Not sure if I want to open it up, wouldn't that violate my warranty? :< If it didn't I'd be more than eager to open it up to see what the problem is.

I'm glad I'm not playing on Expert yet...hopefully my controller will survive most of this since I'm not playing so hardcore on it.

If the controllers are malfunctioning 2 days after release then it just means poor quality control.

I don't know why your Gamestop refuses to exchange it, I thought you could return almost anything within some days after purchase?
You could try returning it and buy a new one =/

The Gamestop here insists that Activision's request for customers to deal directly with them instead of the retail store overrides Gamestop's return policy.

"We reserve the right to refuse any return and to require that certain items be returned directly to the manufacturer."

I went through Activision's awful RMA process and noticed this:

Also, it asked for the serial number from my DJ Hero controller and specifically stated it should contain 2 letters and 12 numbers.

Why does my s/n have 4 letters and 14 numbers? And the text box only accepted a total amount of 14 characters- way to go.

I managed to submit an RMA request anyway, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed on whether they'll actually ship a replacement Turntable anytime soon (If at all).

For the same reason that Gamestop usually refuses Rock Band bundle returns (even though there's a huge sticker on the RB box that says "DO NOT RETURN TO STORE" so you'd think people would get that), the manufacturer would rather deal with all defects than force the retailers (and in turn, themselves) to lose sales due to defective equipment.

someone on the xboxachievement forums said they had to send theres back and the wait is till November or some sh*t because due to the release they didnt have any extra? makes no sense to me, I am worried though theres a bunch of people popping up with problems.

I know its stupid but did you change the batteries?
