Why doesn't GH World Tour support a 4:3 mode for standard-def TVs?

Default Why doesn't GH World Tour support a 4:3 mode for standard-def TVs?

I just got a 360 Elite and GH:WT Guitar Kit for the system and noticed the game only had a letterbox in widescreen in the software. Why would Neversoft make this normal for people stuck on standard-def TVs like me?

Because they don't know how to make a game :/ It's completely inexcusable that they didn't include a standard mode. Widescreens are not the standard today, and furthermore it is a MUSIC GAME, most widescreen tvs have horrible lag issues.

However the display problem is probably the smallest error they made with World Tour. That game is just a trainwreck, it destroyed all faith I had in that franchise. I'll admit GH isn't exactly my favorite series, but I at least got some fun out of GH3.

I use a standard 4:3 TV by Phillips, and there was no visual latency, although dealing with the letterbox kinda sucks now for most 360 software (World Tour included). Also, did you try calibrating the lag on your TV, Deca? It's there for a reason.

only huge losers play tony hawk and it is those same huge losers who also go rabid about video game graphics (instead of, you know, gameplay) and thus must own hdtvs for their 00b3r 1337 sEtUp~~~

Since Neversoft only intends to sell games to this market, and not, say, music gamers, they simply assume that anybody wicked cool enough to own one of their games must already have a 1080p widescreen 58" TV in their bedroom.

I don't own a widescreen, and I'll sure as hell never by one with any sort of lag at all (one of the reasons I don't have one). Lag calibration doesn't really work worth a damn on most TVs, I've dealt with them enough setting stuff up for my college to know that you can never get it perfectly syncd, you can always feel the lag if you have any sense of timing at all and it pretty much makes the game unplayable :/

Sounds like the TVs you've done it on suck, because I got it synced pretty well on my LG.

*sigh* stupid nomenclature. "widescreen" in the context of "a widescreen movie" means 4:3. Widescreen in the context of "a widescreen tv" means 16:9. *shoots self in head*

No it doesn't... 4:3 is standard def, or "full screen" as DVD's come in. Widescreen has always been 16:9
