New to Taiko 7. How do I unlock oni mode? =(

So I've played another taiko game at a friends' place where I just had to tap right a bunch to get to Oni mode. I just got Taiko 7 in the mail and I have no idea how to unlock oni mode. I've looked online everywhere and haven't found any help.
