I'm only looking for a drum only, and not the bundle pack. Anyone try or own Red Octane's Drum?

Are they talking about the controller or the game. I believe controllers are region free, correct? I have a US PS2 and i don't need to worry about games being Japanese.

You could just buy Taiko Drum Master and get the drum + game for like 30-40 dollars. That's what I did.

Even the US version is getting really hard to find. I haven't seen any bundles around my area anymore. Some other places might just have them in the back and you have to ask for it, but we're pretty much cleaned out in Miami.

Oh my. I had no idea. This happened in the Pump branch when people were scouring for the ps2 bundle. I guess St. Louis is just really lucky right now, I'm now considering purchasing the other drums and cleaning them, ready for BMS Market.

Great idea. I found one on craigslist and hopefully everything goes through, to avoid shipping costs.

They seem to be on ebay a lot and going for good prices, with moderate shipping costs. Amazon has some too for 40$ excluding shipping.

...drum + game bundles are the best way to get the drum, IMO. The official drum seems to be the best one anyways.

...just be prepared to keep it from sliding around -- you do have to beat it to play, you know...

Believe me, you will find ways to keep that drum steady. It's not too hard to figure out how.

I've seen people use things like pillows or blankets underneath the drum, and that seems to work just fine. Seems to dampen the noise a little bit as well (but not much).
