Red vs Blue Note Unlocks

In Taiko 4 - 7 when you unlock something via play you get either a blue or red note. I figured out the red is a song, what is the blue?

The blue box is for the sound effects that you can select besides the standard taiko sounds. They range from other percussion instruments to SFX from other BandaiNamco games like Pac-Man and Xevious.

How do you switch between them?

In CS 4 and 5, you have to go to the options menu and change them. It's in the one with all the sound options.

In CS6 and after, you can press start, and one of those options is to select the sound effect,
