As you guys may have noticed, some of the songs have alternate versions. So far, there are 3 types of alternate versions:
- long version: the song is MUCH longer than the original version, kinda like an extension. Usually, these types of alternate versions have very high combo counts (around the 900 range).
- speed change version: the song has a modified BPM, either faster or slower. The name will also be modified as well. The notes of the song, however, are EXACTLY the same as the original.
- console/arcade versions: it's the same song, but different depending on whether it is on console or on arcade. Not necessarily a long version of the song.
So, let me put these 7 songs into their individual categories:
Long Versions
(Haikei, Gakkou ni te...)
(Fuun! Bachio Sensei)
(Hibike! Taiko no Tatsujin)
(Hikari no Kanata he)
Speed Change Versions
2000 (Saitama 2000 -> Hayasaitama 2000) (faster)
200 (Kitasaitama 2000 -> Kitasaitama 200) (slower)
Console/Arcade Versions
(Senpuu no Mai)
My questions are here as follows:
1. If there is a long version of a song, isn't the short version pretty much obsolete? Because the long version will include anything the short version has anyway.
2. Why are there separate songs for console and arcade?
3. What exactly is the point of a slower speed changed version? It just makes the song easier, and that isn't the point of Ura maps.
Meanwhile, vote for your favorite alternate version songs. Choose multiples if you want. (I like all of them.
