Question 太鼓の達人のタタコン「taiko controller」

Hi, so I have a interesting question. I got the Wii Taiko, and I want to use my PS2 Taiko controllers with it with a super joy box. Does anyone think it is possible?

I already know the question is no! But using homebrew wii applications, I assume a program could be made to mimic it super joybox and boot it? Or maybe I can chop my class Wii controller in half to mod it that way?

The drums are too expensive and hard to find, so I want some kind of alternative to 80 dollar drums. I don't want a Chinese ripoff either...

So far I've attempted playing taiko with the Dolphin emulator. It never wants to pass the select to song select... By I assume the Dolphin emulator can support any controllers, which is nice, even my PS2 controllers

I see a possibly of using the PS2 tatakon for Taiko on the PC; however if it makes to the song select screen.

I'm a huge Taiko fan and have bought many of the PS2 games in Japan, lucky me!

Looking for good responses if my thread doesn't lock and ban me.

Short answer: Not even remotely going to happen with your current setup.

Long answer: The way that I'm seeing it is that you downloaded the game since there is NO WAY you bought the game without the drum. It's only sold as a bundle. Just save up money and buy the game with the drum. Also, even though it supports GC controllers, you can't use a PS2-to-GC converter since it won't map correctly, or even select a song.

Aside from that, the cheapest way WOULD be to wire the drum to a CC, since they're only $20+tax.

Well I wont admit to that, but it possible to buy the game if some one had no other choice to buy two bundle games just to get another controller.

Have you wired a classic controller to a PS2 controller or seen a tutorial?

By the way, your a pretty decent taiko player. I've seen a few of your videos.

Well, I haven't used a soldering iron, but I can't imagine it being TOO hard, seeing as your contact points are going to be fairly large. It's just a matter of figuring out what each wire does and applying it to the appropriate contact point on the CC. I'm sure there's diagrams of the CC so you know how you're supposed to solder the points.

I can't find anything remotely close on the internet for connecting a PS2 controller to the Wiimote. I assume it would be to use a hori fight stick instead of messing with the wiimote board, but I think a mod peripheral will be released to connect Playstation controllers to Wii.

I've found the Wii rip-off drums which look alright. Have you heard how well they fair?

Buy Drum Performance of Nintendo Wii at Superufo.com, one of the biggest wholesaler / distributor of Video Game in Asia.

From my experience with 3rd party drums, they're OKAY, but I think they're based off the 1st gen drums, which weren't that great to begin with.

Like I said, a PS-to-GC connector won't work, but I haven't heard of anything other than that.

All you're connecting are the wires from a cut cord of the drum to the face buttons of a Classic Controller. You would have to figure out the color coding of the wires, and from there, you just solder the wires to controller. Then you connect the CC to the Wii-Remote, and the game will still think that it is just a CC that you connected.
