As far as I know, Melbourne's arcade (referred to as "Blue/Yellow House" by the gamers though the actual store name is "e-Games") is the only arcade in Australia with a Taiko no Tatsujin cabinet. And, thankfully it upgraded its 6th Mix to 11th Mix two weeks ago because NO ONE was playing it before.
There are a couple of reasons behind no-one having a Taiko cabinet in Australia:
1) It costs $12,000 AUD (not including shipping costs) just to ship one to Australia.
2) Zax Amusements is a dodgy bastard and he'll sell the cabinet for slightly cheaper, but as for the game, he overprices. And they're usually just copies from the original Japanese game/board.
Essentially, though, both reasons are related to it costing an arcade an arm and a leg. Considering Australian arcades just don't get as much business as Japanese, Hong Kong/Taiwan, and U.S. arcades, it's simply not worth it. And, yes, you can forget about Replay getting it. I'm pretty sure John can't be bothered upgrading IIDX unless he gets it for cheap (which, I can sell to him ASSUMING I get can GOLD working on our machine...).
Hope this helps.
