How do you unlock Oni difficulty in this version?. This is the first Taiko game I've bought since the 3rd one which had Oni selectable from the start if I remember and am I blind or is Kurenai(the reason I bought this version) missing from that song list?.

Oni has never been selectable from the start. You have to unlock it by playing more and more and collecting the points at the end of the song. Usually Oni mode unlocks before 10k points.

It could be a hidden song, I am not sure. I still haven't bought the game yet because I am saving my money for a new HDTV and various other things. I'm sure MechaGai might be able to answer this.

紅 IS kurenai (posted as beni). It's available from the start, as are all J-Pop songs.

The last 2 are unlocked differently.
伝説の祭り is unlocked when you beat Waku Waku mode.
ジングルベル七六五番 is unlocked when you play the Santa mini-game.

How to unlock hidden anime songs? I have around 11k points by now....

From what I remember, there have been no hidden anime songs in any of the console versions. The only unlockable songs are from the Namco Originals/Video Games, Classical, Children's Songs, and General Interest categories.

Actually, I think Anime Matsuri had hidden anime songs, but that's it/

Yes, that's what Don/Katsu say when you select it. :-) Just go through it until you get to the last song which is that one. Pass it, and all points that you have accumulated will be transferred to your DON Points. It's a good way to unlock other songs and notesounds, too.

Also, it doesn't which difficulty mode you select for Waku Waku mode (easy or hard), as you'll unlock the song passing either one.

Still need 月下美人 and 十露盤2000, does anybody know how much points you need to get these?

One other thing: I noticed in several videos I watched, the player first selects the songs and then the difficulty...but I have to choose the diificulty first...is there an opion to switch this or depends this on the taiko mix?

Finally: When you hit Start at the song selection screen, there are four options, what does they mean?!

Anyway, this is my first taiko and I'm really satisfied

First question, I forgot at which exact Don Points you need to unlock those songs, but I know that it's always song > soundFX > song > soundFX > song > soundFX etc. soroban2000 should be the last one, IIRC. So quite a bit of Don Points/

2nd question, from 1-3 and Anime Matsuri, you had to choose a difficulty first before you could select a song. 4-6 and Anime Special, you select the song before the difficulty, but only 6 had the option to switch between the two selections. 7 has it like it used to be before, and you can't change it in the options. :-\

When you hit start, it should be, from right to left:
Sound FX Select,
Difficulty Select,
Main Menu,
Profile Select
