Total Tokens: 448.60 Donate Tokens | Taiko no Tatsujin on Japanese PS3 I was just thinking about this actually, as some may have seen in my other thread I'm considering getting a JPN import PS3, however I remember reading some reports that not all of the music peripheral controllers work through the USB PS2 controller converters..?
I'm sure I read a news report here on bemanistyle that the pop n' music controllers did not work at all, and was just wondering if anyone had had any success with the tatakon controllers? before I plant down the cash to get a PS3, as my reasoning for getting a JPN import PS3 is mostly due to taiko lol
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Total Tokens: 448.60 Donate Tokens | Oh yah I know it's region free but I mean currently to continue playing taiko via backwards compatibility, since I only just recently bought it (taiko 7) I'd like to be able to shelve my ps2 and still be able to keep playing taiko.
sorry I should have made it more clear I was talking about playing it via backwards compat.
I'm sure there will eventually be a taiko for ps3 also but yeah in the meanwhile would be cool to still play/import ps2 taiko games, assuming the drum still works via one of those usb ps2 control pad thingos

No, you can't play JPN ps/2 games on a non-JPN PS3. Where the hell did you hear that, Paul?
I mean, in terms of PS3 games, yeah, for the most part, they're region-free, but I don't know how well the adaptors work for Taiko. I'll test it out as soon as I can, but no guarantees. :-\

Yeah, if you want to shell out the cash for a JP one go for it. You can make several accounts on your Playstation Network, so you don't need to worry about not being able to download content that's overseas.

My adapter is a Powerwave branded one Fingers crossed!

It only lets me hit the center drum hits whilst I'm in the menus, so I can't actually select anything difficulty/song/etc because the rim-hits don't work, but once you're actually in the song the drum works A-OK. Guess I'll have a look at some other adaptors.
