I posted this on another forum a while ago, and my opinions still haven't change since I did that :3

- Sound quality is poor (WTF 36 songs smashed into a dimension of 32mb....)
- Sound is too soft
- Graphics. Really horrible s:
- I havent seen any minigames yet x:
PROS PSP VERSIONS:
- Looks just exactly as normal taiko, but then its portable [:
- Many songs! (Taiko 2 has 62, but 1 has only 36)
- Downloadable songs
- Sound quality is superior for a handheld
CONS PSP VERSIONS:
- Battery life [: (the longest I got with full brightness is about 2.5/3 hours, standard battery, not enough for a flight to japan lol) |
Taiko DS is nice for the touchy thing, and the Taiko stylus' you get with the game are really nice too have! But yeah, most disappointing thing about DS is sound quality. After that comes graphics. Sure youll get used too it after a while, but it still pretty much sucks. Ghosting is also very present on DS. If you play a somewhat fast song, you nearly can't see the chart anymore because of all the ghosting. Next thing is that the game lacks an intro, which officially makes this game the 1st taiko game w/o intro x: The same thing with the minigames :3 Infact, I see this game as "Taiko Lite +" (the + is for the touch controll Xp )
For full experience just get Taiko Portable (just both of them lol). And if you have way too much money, just get both, like I did Xp Taiko Portable aso has the downloadable songs ya know :3 Free game extensions are allways welcome.
Still no offense to the DS game, I love it as much as the psp one, because I have both versions, it's just an "extra" for me, but if I had to choose, I'd go for Taiko PSP, for full Taiko experience on a handheld.
Final Verdict by me:
Taiko DS
7/10
Taiko PSP
9/10
