There are plenty of outside tools someone could use to get a key interface that's better aligned with a 4x4 grid than the slanted setup you have set by default.

That second one wouldn't work though, it only has three buttons in each row

Based on the screen size and its use of MIDI music I'm guessing it's being developed for cell phones, though

The markers appear a bit too fast (I know you added speed mods but would be better if defaulted to jubeat's marker speed)
And 880k would be A instead of S =P
Just wondering if you also have fast/slow judgements (blue)
AFAIK, goods are 70% score of perfect and blues are 50% of perfect

Total Tokens: 570.08 Donate Tokens | I didn't have any clue how jubeat scoring worked so I just based it on IIDX's EX score system (goods are worth 1 point, greats are worth 2, and your final grade is based on a percentage of total EX points. IIRC the percentages are more strict than IIDX's because it was way too easy)
And if I ever get around to working on this some more I'll definitely add a default modifiers menu so you can default to 0.5x
Edit: also I do have Early and Late judgments, they're worse than Goods and they show up in red

Tokens: 842.72

Total Tokens: 842.72 Donate Tokens | jubeat scoring system is rather simple
each note is worth (900,000 / number of notes in the song) points
Perfect note is rewarded 100% of the score,
(e.g. a song with 450 notes would give you 2000 points per note for perfect)
good 70%, bad (don't know what to call it, this doesn't break the combo though) 50%, miss 0%
Combo doesn't matter at all.
And as you perform well, a shutter in the background opens up. If it's fully open you get 100k, if it's totally shut you get 0, if it's partially open you get partial bonus.
I don't know the exact mechanics of this, but I'm pretty sure if you miss the very last note you never get the whole 100k bonus.
All songs cap at 1 million points.
950k+ SS (EXCELLENT = 1 million points is also SS)
900k+ S
850k+ A
800k+ B
700k+ C
I don't know the cutoff for D and E (lowest grade is E)

if im not wrong, D is 550k and above, E is anything below that. Since my evans first play is
<550k (E),
2nd play 590k (D), i can assume that E is below 550k
Regarding the shutter, i feel its more of yellow light lols. And you don't get the full bonus if u miss the last note, coz if u break ur combo, the shutter closes momentarily until u combo another 10+ or so (not sure the exact number coz nvr tested it out)

Jeff: your program is GREAT! I'm now trying to emulate songs from jubeat itself and it does the job nicely . It would be great if there was a counter somewhere to keep track of the beat or bars of the song as it plays.

This was during the hard-drive change when Ripples was being installed.
It's a Windows-based PC, by the way... Judging by the colour of the title bar on the DOS window that comes up during start-up it's Windows 2000...
To add what deathfisaro said, scoring is as follows:
Total score (excluding bonus) is as follows:
(900,000 / totalNotes) * (P + G*0.7 + g*0.4 + B*0.1)
P - Perfect count
G - Great count
g - Good count
B - Bad count
Bonus is calculated as follows:
A pre-bonus variable is used which has a range of 0 to 1024, when calculating the bonus use (100,000/1024)*preBonusVariable
Starting at 0, adjust by the following amounts for each hit:
Perfect or Great: 2048/totalNotes
Good: 1024/totalNotes
Then, for a Bad or a Miss take away 8192/totalNotes
Finally after the song finishes the bonus is added to the total score (in the game it drains from one to the other)
As a competitor I probably shouldn't be helping you make a Jubeat game but I figured I would hehe (see sig for what I mean)
Great program, by the way! I do like it

Unfortunately I currently have absolutely no time to work on it right now (although my next few classes are supposed to be really easy so maybe I'll have some time next month) Quote:

I would like to see other sims use the JBT format though, even if it's in addition to their own proprietary format, I was hoping to keep some standardization throughout jubeat sims (sort of like how Stepmania supports the "standard" DWI files in addition to its proprietary SM files)

I'd not object to adding support for it too.
The format I'm using is pretty much exactly the same as how players share the information on all the Jubeat sites, for example here, and I've kept them plaintext so they can be hand-editable without any need to learn anything complex...
I've never worked with the DWI files or anything so I don't have any clue how they are formatted, but the fact that they didn't have a .txt extension, even as a programmer, always put me off even opening them, let alone considering editing them...

They're basically based on BMS files in the way notes are set up
I think I understand how your format works, maybe I'll write a converter when I get a chance (which would certainly aid in creating official simfiles)
