What is Jubeat?

It supposedly falls under Bemani, but I can't find anything on it other than the site above. Does anyone know, since it is testing in Japan this coming week....?

The game keeps a log, at least at the loctest.

1. Difficulty levels are named Basic, Advanced, and Extreme.
2. The evaluation system seems to be D to SS.
3. The loctest machine is set to three stages.

There's also some graphics and song titles, too. Just in case if you're wondering what's in this game.

プレ静のお部屋トップ

apparently its pronounced "Yu-beat" YU as in Yubi or finger.

and a partial songlist;

・負けないで
・全力少年
・POP STAR
・気分上々
・I'M IN THE MOOD FOR DANCING
・粉雪
・YMCA
・天体観測

seems like mostly j-pop

No clue as of yet. It looks like a touch sensitive game. We'll see with more news at a later date.

Similar to Ouendan/EBA? Seems somewhat possible.

So, a DS port, please Konami? (I'd suggest a Wii port, but since the DS is a little more region friendly than the wii is, barring a US release of the game of course...)

The game looks... interesting, I guess granted I know next to nothing about it. (Aside of course from the bits of info from random sites that I've come across)

And I'll go ahead and say 'hoping for youtube vids' though I'm not sure how long it'll be before we do see 'em.

oh and:

Aren't those the same difficulty names in GF/dm? As well as the same grading system? (Maybe different scoring system, I don't know.)

One more extra edit: Actually, I wouldn't be too surprised if the interface turned out like that high-tech blue that was in KBM, now that I think about it.

Whatever it is, the cabinet looks cheaper than IIDX arcades. Maybe US will have a better chance at seeing this.

Agreed. Those touch sensitive panels seem mighty awesome. A nice woofer to top it all off is a great addition.

If this does come to the U.S. I bet that the little kids will break the touch panels by going up and smacking the machines for no reason.

Now this does look promising...

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but it's been a very long time since Konami has created a new concept for a rhythm game, right? This is why I'm definitely keeping this game under my radar. (especially if I'm lucky or rich enough to go to Japan in the future ^_^ )
