You do not play the music, it's like DDR for your fingers. Likewise, it seems that you're never playing more than one rhythm at once (a la pop'n, IIDX, dm). If the chart is going to the lyrics (like a DDR chart...unless it's IIDX and for some reason you're playing their voice), there will be no other keys going to the beat, or a different rhythm. This could change in later charts/editions, but from what I've played (which is a lot :d), it pretty much picks one rhythm to go to and you play along with it.

But no, the game isn't keysounded if that's what you're asking.

Whoa, that sucks ass. "Playing" the songs is the main great thing that sets IIDX/Pop'n apart from the dance-oriented games like DDR.

Jubeat is right next to the pop'n music machine at the arcade near me. I keep looking over at it but I haven't played it yet. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try. I'll admit I am intimidated because I have never played it before. Besides GFDM it seems to be the most popular music game at the arcade right now.

Wow, this looks promising and innovative! Looking forward to playing that.

EDIT: I think I saw Tentaikasoku there and that Kan Kan-ish song by Mutsuhiko Izumi (Polaris?)!

Tentaikansoku was there.

I heard it from one of the videos in the Korean location test. I was shocked though cause many years ago, bemani games officially sold in Korea had no Japanese lyrics.

So I guess Konami learned from that and they fixed it with this one.

That also includes Spring and Sunny Day Sunday. I remember those early versions of GF&DM there.

Yeah

Thankfully, it is a thing of the past now.

Anyways, I can't wait for an Asian release of this game.

Judging from the asian version location test regional tour (from Hong Kong then Taiwan then to South Korea), the response has been positive.

I think they'll greenlight this game for the asian region before year end. (hopefully)

I learned the hard way that I should keep my hands clear of the four bottom panels so I can see what's going on there...
Very fun game to play, I love how a lot of the songs are real ones.

...if only it'd hit GF DM ):

Yeah, that happened to me the first time I played. I didn't really keep my hands off to the sides so I couldn't see anything on the bottom. But..I learned from my mistake.

Hmm........

So I guess it's better then to just put the hands at the side or below the screen.

Or anywhere that is clear from the screen then?

I see I see.

I hope that I'll keep that in mind

wtf, looks like every BEMANI game will get Nadeshiko Rock.
jubeat staff have announced an online update during the middle of December. The online update will add the following songs to the game:

SigSig / kors k
凛として咲く花の如く / 紅色リトマス
TRUE♥LOVE / jun feat. Schanita
Slang / Kozo Nakamura

info from Zenius.

This might be a look at things to come with DDR, heh. I wouldn't be surprised if we got all the songs, sans TRUE LOVE, in a future DDR game.

Man, those are good songs. Can't wait to play (if I ever GET to) SigSig (1st Pop'n Music & now jubeat. Wonder what's next) & True Love. I wonder what other Bemani crossovers are going to make it on jubeat.

I like the idea behind those crossovers; one from each Bemani game.
