Dj max Portable 2 help

Quick question.

How do you unlock 8 button mode in DJMP2?. I found a forum over on Gamespot and it said to have a song count in freestyle of around 300. Now is that cumulative over time, or do i have to play all 300 in one go around? or is this even how to unlock it?

It's cumulative. When you go to Collection, you will see what songs you've played, along with a number on top of them. When the sum of all the songs you've played is 300, then you unlock 8 button mode.

Alternatively, you can just go to Hard mode and it will be unlocked already.

Do you mean Hard mode as in 6 button? or as in change the difficulty under Options?

I play primaraly in 6 button so i'm sure thats not it

In the options. Just know that the timing is much more strict.
