Anyhow it doesn't NEED two screens. They show almost exactly the same thing....
There was rumored to be a PSP touch coming out (PSI) so you never know.... Besides, there was an artical about DJ Max comimng out on the DS in 2007 and that obviously didn't go well... So we'll have to see.

THANK YOU DJ MAX FOR TRYING NEW THINGS.... unlike some people *caugh*IIDX*caugh*

Though, it may be a bit away from the DJ MAX that I got used to (PSP versions).
Still, a wait-and-see approach would be something to look at for now. | There are gameplay videos out courtesy of Ruliweb, and there is an explanation of the game style. They quite clearly lay out the foundation of the game.
Music games aren't ridiculously complex. Gitaroo-Man is the only one I can recall which may be perceived as 'hard to understand'. Parappa doesn't count because it's the judgment that's broken.

Harmonix probably can not be counted in the Band Wagon, since it was their game on almost all counts that caused the Band Wagon to even exist (GH causing a GH-esque craze, Rock Band creating a Band mentality, etc).
Man I miss FreQuency. Where's our Fr3Quency?

...
And why are people whining about a popular series taking a new-ish direction? Not every company wants to rehash the same exact bit for two dozen releases. Not that we haven't proven time and time again that we will buy the same exact thing over and over again so long as it has a new graphical interface or something. Or new songs. ... or new girls to date...

The second screen on top might be able to go away, but I'd like to play this just as much as I would an EZ2DJ or a IIDX arcade cabinet, and significantly more than the other Bemani franchises (especially Jubeat, that looks more frustrating and something I'd play once and probably wouldn't enjoy it b/c the hands tend to block the view for notes for streams etc)

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Well just saw some test videos of it uploaded from Youtube:
Granted.....
It indeed has two monitors: one main touchscreeen and one overhead monitor that just displays what the primary monitor is playing.
Neat concept................however
I just hope that the touchscreen display is DURABLE enough........for it can cause 'sensitivity' problems if it isn't. Worst case, the whole touchscreen monitor might have to be replaced if its sensitivity becomes busted.
Though, we'll never know for sure till they release it officially in its final version.
EDIT:
Now I know why Konami held a location test of Jubeat in South Korea (along the crowd-heavy Gangnam Train Station) last July 2008

Plus there are some arcades that put such machines in unwanting places.
If I remember right, there was one place in Singapore that had a DM V3 machine that was close to one of those basketball shooting games. Often times, any missed shots would go out of the area and just land on the DMV3 machine.
Heh, that would be a headache for maintenance.
So yeah, I hope that touch screen is durable enough (at least to some degree).
