hey i have a small question, anyone know the dj ranks from this game, what it takes to level up, my speical edition card just came and i thought to ask you all.

Leveling is based on exp. points

0~90 / Beginner
91~240 / Trainee
241~550 / Amateur
551~1200 / Rookie
1201~2000 / Sub DJ
2001~3200 / Middleman
3201~4800 / Main DJ
4801~7000 / Pop DJ
7001~9500 / High Class
9501~13000 / Professional
13001~18000 / Mix Master
18001~24000 / Trendsetter
24001~30000 / Hit Maker
30001~36000 / Show Stopper
36001~42000 / Superstar
42001~54000 / World Famous
54001~ / DJ MAX Grand Master

You earn exp points through clearing songs.
The grade you get decides the exp

S = 10 exp
A = 9
B = 8
C = 7
D = 3
F = 1

Lite / Pop stages give you the exp immediately after you beat the song.
Tech mode, on the other hand, gives it AFTER you beat the whole set.
Plat Crew's missions give a lot of exp the first time you clear it, but little afterwards.
Effectors have nothing to do with exp.

So the fastest way to level up would be playing first step and getting all S ranks.

so basically, you need to do 5400 perfect plays to advance to Grand Master. w0w!

the info was first posted on a taiwanese forum, which made its way to a korean dude's blog, which i jacked

AFAIK, the taiwanese had access to the exp bar long before evolution ep update was released.

evolution ep, with its exp bar and whatnot, just backs up the taiwanese players' research i guess...

Well that explains why it's taken me so long to get to Mix Master. I am so fucking bored of the game I just dick around and get C's and D's on songs usually.

Geez no wonder I'm still stuck on Amateur. I usually get B's and C's on songs so it's gonna take forever to level up. Thanks for the info though since I was curious as to how long it takes to level up your rank.

I know what you mean, I get some pretty good scores, but I don't play nearly enough to rank up fast (like 3 plays a week). That's why ranks really don't accurately show your skill level, but I bet arcades are making a whole lot of money off of Grand Masters and such.

It's not based on max points unfortunately. The chart BLU- posted is as accurate as it gets, since the source came from someone with database access
