Default DJ MAX Trilogy: Equipment Bonuses

Can someone explain what the equip bonuses you can get like Tech +1 and Auto +1 do? Didn't exactly see a topic on it or any information in the instruction guide that came with the game.

If you can explain it or point me to a topic that has it, it would be appreciated.

Tech indicates how much faster you will recover your lifebar (after having it drained from BREAKs.)

Auto indicates how many missed notes will be automatically converted to Max 1% (so your combo will be saved.)

DefUp (don't know if it is fixed for Trilogy) should reduce the amount of damage taken to your lifebar for each BREAK you get. However, it might be the exact opposite in which you will actually take more damage than usual.

Fever indicates how many 'Max 100%'s are docked off from your first Fever. It normally takes 50 'Max 100%'s to fill up the Fever bar, but if you have an item with Fever +3 for instance, then you only need 47 'Max 100%'s for your first Fever.

wait, wasen't tech the thing that makes the judgement less strict? (therefore more max 100%?)

and for Def up I think it applies to the fever gauge too, not just the lifebar

Oops, yes you are correct. Even the game manual (page 23) explains it all.

I still need verification on the increment of the frame window when you have Tech +, anyone with a speeder program that can assist me on this? Maybe there's a way we can set it up to be 2 frames per second with a Speeder to isolate the frame where 100%s stop registering, then put on +1 Tech, and then +2 tech, repeat experiment. Anyone?

From deducing I can't find the way Tech is programmed, since if it by frames it would be unbalanced if we put a 30FPS cap on the game or something, while it cannot be pixels. SSRMAX, Rhythm-It, Ez2dj and IIDX all uses frames, but I've no idea what would happen if you increase that window by something as humongous as +10 frames. So I'm guessing there much be a peak increase somewhere.

If it works anything like many other rhythm games, it is done in real time, in miliseconds. Just because you can only see the output at a certain rate, such as 30FPS, doesnt mean the game can only check input 30 times per second. So a bonus in tech should just make the window a few miliseconds larger.
