i'll post mine to get this thread started.

YouTube - DJ Max Trilogy [MV] Ventilator

Ventilator has one of most "original" BGA's in all DJMAX series. the BGA is made from MS paint and animated using After Effects (i think).

what can you say about it? is it a masterpiece or an artist's procrastination?

Pentavision's style has been very much more geared towards pop culture than Bemani (You can see this in the music style, for example)

Ventilator's BGA is very likely a reference/salute to the Stick Figure Pwnage gifs that have been floating around the internet for years.

I took it as a throwback to those avatars people sport here and there, the ones have hella smooth stick figure animation and the stick figures are usually doing something Dragonball-like exactly how Ventilator does it. I don't think it's procrastination at all - it must've taken a crapload of time to draw each frame, it looks like it's drawn on twos, which is a ton of animation!

I'd bring up an example of those aforementioned GIF avatars but I don't know anyone off the top of my head who actively uses one.

Here's another question on the side to further discussion: What's your favorite BGA and why?

Clazziquai and Black Square saw an upgrade in terms of the quality of the MVs.
According to its Album description, the MV for Landscape took 8 months to create!

I like them because of the art, specially the first 2.

Other than Chrono Breakers being out of synch as the one that annoying me <.<;

There's always the NB Ranger ones that are all fun to watch.

My favorite right now would be Flutter, I like playing it each time I get on, and the girls cute, but the best part is clearly near the beginning when she's either trying to molest the poor bird with her lips or eat it, and it hits her in the face and flies off all pissed off. Kinda not expected, so its funny each time I see it.

i think cherokee's BGA isn't actually related to the song like Kimys' visualizations aren't relevant to their respective songs.

btw, there's a scene at Ladymade Star's BGA which intrigues me much:

before the card wipe-like transitions, there's an animated scene which shows the Ladymade Star girl suddenly turning around from her back. here's the thing; the girl got ponytails at the both sides of her head. we know that the twins only has one pony tail on one side of their head. i wonder which girl is which on that scene or the girls fused into one there...

There's a robot who can kill anything that moves, so they try a teddy bear, which, likewise, fails. I dunno.

As for my picks, instead of doing top overall, I think I'm going to tackle it per game.

Online: Eternal Memory (love how hard they try to make it as anime OP as possible)

P2: Bye Bye Love -or- Ladymade Star -or- NB Rangers Returns -or- Miles* (tie)
CE: In My Heart -or- Dark Envy -or- Fate (tie)

*As I understand it, there was an existing BGA for Miles (DMO), which they replaced in P2.

It's supposed to be an epic battle of robots, some sort of war, and the teddy is the enemies' biggest thing. So the heroes went all out to finish it off.

Proposed Flower Wolf for both CE and BS.
The others, well, they're reused anyways, doesn't really have a favourite.

I'm not a particular fan of Proposed, Flower, Wolf >_> maybe because I don't feel satisfied with the charts, then again, playing on the PSP feels too easy and I have more fun playing Trilogy than I do the PSP games >< Maybe if they combine them into one long difficult song in Trilogy and I might be happy then lol

Still, I ended up overplaying Heart of Witch, Melody, and SuperSonic anyway ><

Miles didn't actually have a video before P2, but it did have different art (which i liked better)

I can't see the Youtube video, but I myself liked the twin tailed british/european w/e flag outfit girl that they used in the Online version of Miles. The BG in DJMAX is meh ><

Edit: Can't see youtube at work, and the BG in DJMAX "TRILOGY" is meh.
