So I bought a PSP 3000 edition *white color* and I bought DJ MAX Black square and Clazz edition on Play asia...

Then I read somewhere I wont be able to play them cause the PSP 3000 edition isnt compatible with them unless updated/

Is this true?

Not true. If your PSP is at least... 3.5, methinks? Or you upgrade to the latest firmare, you'll be able to play all the DJ Max games... given you have the actual copies.

As for ROMs... well, I'm not getting into that.

Unfortunately, 3000 series have slight interlacing problems, which could lead to the movements of your notes being slightly blurry... but that's due to the new screen construction on the 3000 itself, and not anything else.

I hear the problem's not that bad though once you get used to it. I own a 2000 series, so I can't tell you.

I've read 3000 screens introduce more lag, so the game might feel a bit off sync. If it does, let us know!

Just ordered CE. Which, of the 3 games I bought with my birthday gift money, is the only one that isn't a shmup.

Whoa, bump. OK so playing any DJ MAX game on a 3000 isn't bad at all, no signs of lag/out of sync songs.

Im playing it on a plasma via tv-out with a yuv-komponent-cable and a 5.1 Surround-System with emulated back-monitor-sound+mixer unit. Fullscreen causes lag, but in windowed-mode it works like a charm. The hole thing with remotejoylite (or usbhostfs) in bakcgorund to remap keyboard to psp. Thats Trilogy-feeling I can tell^^
