Anybody encountering problems when trying to add friends? Everytime I rightclick a DJ and tries to add them windows XP crashes my DJMAX TR to desktop. >_<

Edit: Also, even with applocale, (Not to mention I have unicode for Korea and Japan turned on in Regional settings) I can't view the Moonrunes in Network mode. I've tried making shortcuts for both the patcher and the TR.exe. At least the patcher is legible korean now. Any idea what I might be encountering here?

I believe you're using applocale on the launcher (MainLauncher.exe)..not the game itself. Once you click start it launches into a TR.exe.

Thanks for the quick reply liddo, but I've already tried making an applocale shortcut of TR.exe with the appropriate /connect argument, connected to network. My korean friend's name is still Moonrunes. >_<

Everything that they have bitmap fonts for like song titles are fine though.

humm I changed my unicode and my entire windows ui ( windows mui pack ) to korean and I still gibberish.

Been a while since I posted but

#1 1.20 seems to screw up my timing up a lot, if I put Vsync ON I need to hit earlier and OFF I need to hit later than what I should be hitting the button and it's throwing me off. I had to bring it back down to 1.19 due to it...

#2 I read the past 10 pages, but I still can't find a way to connect online. I have not been successful once since I got it, I never have gotten a message or body of the text on the launch console. Error message is the same one that was provided by someone else few pges back with the 3 possible solutions. I am behind a router on a wifi, but I did try the following: direct wall connect, turn off virus protection, turn off firewall. Any other possible solutions?

Turning V-sync off now makes the keypresses instant. They register at the moment you press instead of normally. I dont recommend that when you've been playing DJMAX for really long. But I like it, because it resembles a certain imanoK game.

I can't even download the patch, I never got it display body of text or whatever it suppose to display on the launch console. I have to download these patches manually off random websites =-/ I also need online play so i can unlock certain things....unless if there's a way to hexedit these...I don't know how I'm going to unlock all these songs at the moment with the time I have to play =-/ I hate these grinding style unlocks that almost all DJ MAX has =-(

Oh, you'll really hate the combo unlocks in Portable 1 then. It's beyond grinding.

No Fever. No Auto. Only 1 combo unlock at a time (in order no less), and in order to get it, you MUST break your combo. Not so bad at first, until the combos start to get pretty high up there...

I don't mind challanges but grinding to unlock songs like DJ MAX style is frusterating as hell, especially with this Trilogy since there's only like 20 songs default... PSP one at least I can cwcheat...

I personally don't like cheating but DJM unlocking system is a bit too much time consuming for someone with my schedule.

BEMANI unlocks I can deal with, since it's not asking a lot of time and usually can do it 5 to 10 hours. DJM is like hundreds of hours =-/

Yeah, but in this case DJMAX actually HAS hundreds of items to unlock as opposed to any bemani game.

Yeah, but that doesn't change the fact that unlocking stuff is too much grinding. I mean the emblem and stuff is fine because those are your "ranks", but songs, movies etc taking like hundreds of playing time, literally...that's not cool personally (like I said, I don't got all this time to dedicate to play more songs from default 20 and average unlock one song per 30min - 1hr)

I gotta agree with you. I do like unlocking songs, gear, etc and stuff but the cost of some things are just ridiculous. 30k gold or higher just for a character and you only get a few hundred gold per song completed. This can frustrate many people who don't wanna spend hundreds of hours trying to unlock everything.

Go play network and win. 1.5k Gold per round. Provided you can somehow win against the Koreans. XD Yesterday I played with someone who just wouldn't give up (since I'd purposely lose a round after every 4. >_>") I've gotten about 30k. XD

Trilogy is much better now. Instead of 3000 song plays to unlock some crappy meagre stuff, you can just finish 500 and that should be it. 500 songs is about 30-40 hours.

i would play online if i can go online =-P and i wished the music videos and ost's were easier to unlock. i don't think i would be able to get most of them...only if it was like iidx no problem but as much as i like dj max series, i can't play worth jack, i can barely do 6b on psp. iidx i can do much better =/

The VSync patch sucks big time. My accuracy dropped by 1-2% on most songs (goodbye 99%+). But it feels more like the old DJ Max now, so maybe I just need time to get used to it again.

About the unlocks, I agree that songs should be unlocked fast, easy and cheap as they are the core of the game. The rest is fine, stop bawww'ing and have fun while you play
