DMP1 Questions~

Hey, quick questions for any DMP1 afficionados out there~

1. Are there any ranks above Basic DJ? And if so, anyone know how to gain them?

2. Any set method for getting the Evil Disc? Is it a better bet to attempt it on songs with more notes or less?

[Edit 2] Since I was unable to find any information about this one, here's what I came up with through lots and lots of troubleshooting and chance:

144 100%
58 1%
1 70%*
15 breaks

on Lighthouse 4B easy. The way I've found easiest to manage this is to hit the odd percentage as the first note, break until after the two notes following the last hold in the beginning (including rainbow notes), then use the combo counter to get to 58 for the 1%, and 100% the rest of the song, including the holds at the end.

*If you know you're going to 90% a few notes, you can give yourself a buffer by doing say 100% instead of 70% on that first note. Only problem being if you end up acing it, you'll be a few percentage points over, lol XD.



Also, while I'm at it, breaking 30 times on Luv Flow 4B does indeed result in a Lucky Disc -->

4. Anyone else run into rampant scoring errors?

hmm...i can't answer all of them but i'll try...

1. i'm pretty sure there are, but i dunno if they're based on the number of songs you play or if they're combo based, OR if they're based in the club mix play...

2. i don't think anyone came up with a "set" way of getting those special discs - i've personally only gotten the lucky and the evil one two times a piece and i did both by playing SIN the last scene on 6B....got lucky i guess

3. holds are found in every aspect of the game - i'm sure every song has at least one...

4. what do you mean by scoring errors?

1. Hmm, interesting hypothesis! I can say that it isn't club based in and of itself as I've completed all of the club stages. I'll definitely experiment with the other two though - especially combo, see if I can get as high as it will go after finishing with the evil combo unlocks XD;

2. Alrighty~ I'll just keep plugging away~! I'm not sure if this counts, but when I was goofing around earlier, I managed a Lucky Disc by breaking 30 times on Luv Flow 4B with 100% on everything else. I'll have to see if I can repeat it~

4. As you can see in the image, the score (or should I say final accuracy score?) is listed as 10%, but mysteriously, I wasn't given a ruby disc for it. I've since figured out that this is because technically I didn't actually get 10%. Probably 9.9% or 10.1%, but somewhere in there, the game mistook like a 90% for a 100% or something like that x____X;. While working on the disc collection, this is rather a pain, as if I didn't hit my target, I'd rather see that instead of having the game dangle a false perfect in my face XD;;;

For #1 if I remember correctly it was based on the % collected...

For #2 your going to have to find an old thread (I mean really old) on another message board that has the exact methods of getting discs. Usually involves one player calculating the # of notes and trying to find a song that involves 100%'s and breaks (similar to how people used For Seasons EZ 4B to get all the easy % discs on DJMP2) but is alot harder to do.

1. Awesome, so it isn't insane like DMP2 with other reqs, cool XD.

2. I found the thread for the Ruby Disc (and I can verify that EternalSpoon's calculations for 10% on Lighthouse 4B are spot on), but for some reason, there isn't really anything around for the Evil Disc :[. Every search for the Evil Disc just nets me the DMP2 methods with, as you said, For Seasons or Fallen Angel x_x~ I'll look again though~!

Um... let me know how 500 break 1000 break 1500 break 2000 break 2500 break 3000 break 3500 break *pretend I went all the way to 19000* isn't insane...

By the way... those are the free style combo unlock only and those breaks are manadatory... and no auto or fever to aid. Good luck on that and don't forget theres more unlocks past 19000 but I think Eternalspoon said thats when you stop getting images every 500.

It's insane, sure enough, but compared to the likes of Just 1%? I dunno XD. To me, breaking every 500 or so is annoying, tedious and rather silly, but at least it's DOABLE to someone of my skill level. Just 1% you have to be pretty damn impressively awesome at 5B MX/8B MX tunes to pass that sucker, and without passing it you cannot get the highest ranks in the game XD. So I'll settle for DMP1 brand insane over that any day XD.
