Default Hold Note problem in Trilogy

The long/hold notes in this game are way too picky about when you release them, much more so than in the handheld games. It makes the missions hard for all the wrong reasons. Is there any trick to releasing at the same time, or is it just something you have to get used to? I've gotten a lot better at the game through practice and I know there aren't any shortcuts in rhythm games, but this is the first time I've come across a problem that has more to do with annoying programming rather than lack of skill

I had problems when I first started playing. I had never played the psp games beforehand either so I didn't really have anything to compare it to. Just keep practicing and you'll get accustomed to it.
