Default New here, would like some help on Dj Max Trilogy

Just got my copy two days ago (never played the series on PC, nor any related or similar rhythm games on the PC) and am having a blast playing it.

I played the series on the PSP of course, though its different on PC since I now have to use my other fingers instead of my thumbs.

Now the problem I have is that I CANNOT practice on Dj Max Trilogy with Auto-Correction in the way. I can do any song on 4B and some songs on 5B and 6B. The main thing is that harder songs on 5B/6B have many notes that are freaking ridiculous and with Auto-Correction, I have NO WAY of telling if I am hitting the keys right.

Any ideas on how to practice without getting those in the way?

If you want to practice keyboard, you should start with another game such as ez2on or o2mania. then you will get used to the keyboard with no autocorrect.

This is the only way I can see. I played EZ2ON first so I was already used to it. I would suggest looking into EZ2ON (it's free if you can get it to work) or o2mania which is easier to get started with.

Is o2jam required for o2mania to work? I would like to try some dj max tracks on it as well.

I run into another problem in Trilogy with obtaining Titles. I completed 10 missions already but I still failed to get the "Beginner" title and some of the others that required breaking at a certain number.

Any way to fix this?

o2jam is pretty much dead already . o2mania is a free downloadable emulator of it .

With 1.23 actually it seems pretty well balanced vs the other stats. The only useless stat in the game is probably HP+ due to how hard it is to die if you don't want to die.

It's not as bad as it sounds - to get a significant judgement difference you pretty much have to sacrifice a bunch of other things.

You usually end up with a bunch of different sets of gear for the missions - Auto for the 'don't break more than X' variety, Tech for 100%, Def/Auto to maintain Fever for the score missions, etc.

if he/she has played djmax before , they probably realise dat tech+0 judgement is ridiculous .

once i tried Memoirs 4B without tech , i had a ton of 1% (and autocorrected notes - resulting in rate barely crossing 80%) , but i golddisced it with tech+7 ...

so ya . im serious .

correct me if i got e wrong idea bout u though .

It really isn't that much tighter than IIDX at +0... the problem really comes from PC not being optimally built to handle differences of ~<50ms which is pretty significant when we're talking about music games. USB poll rates (for USB keyboards that support high rates, obviously), VSync off and high thread priority only do so much.

I'm also pretty (not 100%, don't quote me on this) sure that judgement is at least in part affected by BPM.

Now I have a new question, is it possible to play Dj Max Trilogy with a NON-TURNTABLE USB Controller like say, for example, an 8-button arcade stick?

BTW, the tech+ helped on getting 97%-99% for me on 4buttons. Just practicing with more keys seems to be the hard part.

Errr, Joy2Key, I guess? I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

As ever, though, remember to set poll rates for best results.
