OSU! ? Your opinion

Hello,

Im a real fan of DJMax games and I found few days ago a game called "OSU!"

I installed it and its quite ...fun But not THAT good to compare with popular rythm games. Its also too easy to catch 100% judge, but when it comes to notes... well yeah

See this and decide for yourself:

And YES, they have also DJMax/IIDX titles.
They have around 2k (or more?) songs to play and everyday come new songs out. And some songs are REALLY good.

Besides the main game, there exists also a Donkey-Konga clone and a fruit-catch mode.

I would give the game 6 out of 10 Stars. Its just not my style playing with a mouse...

I've been wary of games which are too easy to create stepfiles/charts/beatmaps/whatever-you-call-it for just because of the amount of mediocre stuff that comes out, drowning out whatever good stuff surfaces.

(...Although Stepmania almost-sorta-kinda falls into that category, but I didn't say that!)

Never played Ouendan or anything as such, but I've really hated the life drop mechanic of that game. It adds faux difficulty and just makes the game plain unenjoyable to me.

Man this is MUCH MUCH cooler! Just need to learn that gameplay... But now I can jump from one screen side to another in less than 0.5 secs. This helps ALOT!!

I played during the beta release of the game. Like the game was just announced and had a bunch of bugs but. I might play again. I was like rank 46, but yea. Maybe I should play again once I get a new mouse since my wireless laser mouse died on me. The only hard song back then that killed us all was the Iosys songs haha. You should try it out, But yea, its a cool game over all. Never tried the beatmania/dj max songs on it but will do.

Do I know it? Yes. Do I hate the hell out of it? YES.
Even with a touchpad integration somehow, user made charts are always on the verge of pathetically stupid, bad, or hard. It also doesn't even come close to the level of coolness Ouendan and EBA had with their charts.
Conclusion: PHAIL.

It's not surprising, all you need to do is throw out chart-making tools for any game and the easier it is to use, the larger the army of keyboard warriors you attract all competing to make the hardest jack off chart ever.

first thing that came to mind was VERTEX BETA vROFL Edit chart. or just the retarded songs stepmania players put out like "The Impossible Song 3"

still: the game would be a lot more fun if the life bar didnt drain itself. what kind of horrible idea was that? and why havent enough people complained about it to make peppy take it out?

its an ouendan mechanic. however its meant for storyboarding purposes, and those features are hardly used. jackoffs just push the life drop up to make songs stupid hard for no good reason
