Marketplace Rating: 0 | Platinum Crew iPhone app? The iPhone has a major flaw. NO FLASH. Just so happens Platinum Crew is all in flash, cant really use it on my iPhone.
I was thinking, how awesome it would be to be able to bust out my iPhone, open an app and BAM! all my Technika ranking stuff is right there at my finger tips...
"Want to check your DJ Max Technika rank? There's an app for that."
If I was a dev. I would make this app, problem is, I have no programing experience.
Jailbreak app or AppStore app, I don't care. We just need this app...

Marketplace Rating: 1 | Easiest way for someone to do this is to code a web app, somewhat like how, say, SigAlert or Facebook or a couple of blogs have iPhone-specific sites.
One small problem, though -- there seems to be no API for the service, so doing stuff would be a bit trickier than if there were a backend for obtaining scores.

Marketplace Rating: 3 | This would be so much easier to do if the scores on PlatCrew were stored via say, XML. But they're not, and I can't figure out an easy way to parse the scores. If I ever do, i'd definitely look into making something.

Do you think you can make a script to parse names/scores/etc from the pages of the PC site? It seems like it'd be tricky, since they only show 10-15 scores at a time... but a script that somehow pulls all of the scores for X name would be really cool.
I'm gonna have to look into app making soon. I just don't want to cause too much overhead and bog the site down with an app that's pulling stuff off 'every' page.

you do realise everything opens in an iframe, and each iframe has a url, which happens to be, for example, Platinum Crew < djmaxcrew.com/technika/ifrDiscSetRank.asp?idx=3&page=2
for core sound's page 2 ranking page
a simple source view will show that each score is seperated by <td width="100" align="center" class="b12"> , and the score follows after.
anyone with simple php/etc knowledge can make a parser to do this
i would, but im lazy so .. yeah theres a headstart on it

.. just sayin'
i made a website dedicated to reading MLIA/FML on my phone which is literally a brick and doesnt view those sites properly, > PHILZ M : MLIA < and fml.php respectively, so yeah parsing really isnt that hard, just basic php knowledge will do

Marketplace Rating: 1 | Here's another idea: make a local iPhone app that has maximum score values for all songs and a way to enter in your scores.
So it's basically a specialized notepad akin to what SwedeShop does for IKEA -- except you've got all of the stuff pre-input, as opposed to SwedeShop, where you have to write down the name of it, how much it costs, its aisle and bin, and so on.

Marketplace Rating: 3 | Yeah, pulling the data like that could cause a lot of strain on the webserver. Of course, you could just grab the HTML source as text and then parse out the values there, but I'm not sure if the scores are visible in the code, or if they're generated by PHP or another scripting language (most likely). It'd be best to petition for a public API, IMO.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Does it just have to be on the iPhone? Couldn't it be on Android and Blackberry OS as well?
But awesome app either way, when I get my iTouch I will defo get that if it ever comes out xD
I might be able to code the Blackberry one, but until I get an Android OS phone, I can't code that one at all.

Marketplace Rating: 3 | I'm not even sure if I can make an iTouch app, since I don't have a mac. Does the SDK actually require one??
I've been playing around with PHP a little this week, working on creating a dynamic sig that can get it's info from the PC site. I'll post if I ever get it working, but I could use help on the html parsing regex since i'm really new to that.
