That is really sad, does anyone know the circumstances behind this?

There's actually a ton of songs which didn't make it into Trilogy - ON, Funky Chups, Catch Me, all the way to more recent stuff like Sakurakagetsu (Most underrated/underappreciated track ever) and Angelic Tears (Okay, maybe these two don't exactly count since they were originally BMS) just to name a few.

There were slightly over 200 tracks on DJMAX Online's tracklist, maybe 40-50 of which are K-pop/other licensed music. Considering the remixes/remakes/unique content in Trilogy, only about 90 of those are represented, maybe 3/5ths of what made the original DJMAX so amazing.

That's a major :sadfase:

the song that i will never forget to pentavision to not put it into the game is "Over your Dream"

personally it's the best one in all dj max series

¿Why always Penta forget's the best songs?

Similar happened with Zet (they put it in trilogy)
But what about "another day"? (Miya's Vocal paradigm version, NOT portable version, that one sucks)
and of course over your dream

Maybe it's because there's so many song titles with the word "Dream" in it. :V

I used to play that and the other Akito songs on BMS all the time before I got into proper IIDX.

I think the fact that the BMSes existed may have been a contributing factor - DJMAX really has prided itself on having a really 'polished' feel and a very unique content lineup.

A lot of Japanese music game enthusiasts are heavily into BMSing - SHIKI, Akito, yamajet, CRANKY, onoken, Est (not ESTi) just to name a few, and that's barely scratching the surface.

If someone were to scoop up the whole bunch and make a commercial music game, it'd be an instant recipe for success. Their limiting factor all these years really has been filesize and format-type constraints - (for example BMPs for BGA, and being limited to .wav by and large due to compatibility issues with various sims) and a singular cohesive game vision. DJMAX already scooped up Tsukasa - although I guess he's more commercial than doujin considering his past work.

someone mustve played JP djmax online, because im 99.99999% sure sakurakagetsu was not in KR, hence why its MIA from now until forever in djmax lol.

what im missing is that one song that forced you to play with balloon notes. not many liked it for its slow speed though [for some reason slow songs always start a witch hunt when it comes to music games]

personally, im happy with seeker being there. its very hard for me to nitpick with songs when so many amazing songs were added, it definately is the best recent mix of djmax

Eh, you're probably right. Korean online games by and large were just as ridiculously hard to sign up for back then as well so JP DJMAX it was after my original KR account got banned for some reason.

Until the urge to play I'm just grew too great, that is. :V

I once got kickbanned from a Trilogy room by the champion at the time for daring to pick Never Say 5K SC against them. What a jerk.
