Problem with Rock Band 1 PS2 Ver.

I don't get why the game keeps on freezing and going when I played Orange Crush by R.E.M. on the PS2 version of Rock Band. I cleaned the disc and it worked perfectly on my cousin's PS2, but I can't get this song finished without causing a meltdown on my own PS2. Does Rock Band have issues on older PS2s? Because I got it with the Gran Turismo 3 bundle.

I played it on an older (refurbished) PS2 with no issues, unless yours is an older version than mine.

PS2s (ESPECIALLY older ones) can be extremely flaky. That's really the only explanation. Your console itself may need to be cleaned, or it may simply be dying out on you.

Yeah, I need to get it serviced since it cannot read any of my Square Enix games, but it could read San ******s and GHIII without any problems. Unfortunately, servicing PS2s now require a fee in debit or credit at this time (I serviced mine twice without any fees, just shipping and handling).

Why on earth would you send it back to Sony? You can probably find someone local to do it for like fifteen or twenty bucks.

If you have a fat PS2 your warranty's been expired for like three years, sticker or no.

not necessarily. I had my fat PS2 serviced by sony roughly four years after I first got it, and for free. I don't know how long the warranty is supposed to be, but they're not shy about taking the machines back.
