Arcade Metal Pads. (In The Groove Dedipad Vs. Dance Dance Revolution Metal Pad)

I have never played on an actual ITG Dedipad so I was wondering.. If you have played on both please post your thoughts,ideas, what's better etc. This thread will help me out alot because my arcade is debating on getting an ITG2 upgrade for our DDR Extreme.. yet we are unsure if it is worth it because of the pad.(The pad isn't bad.. but it's not the greatest). Are they the same? Is ther a noticable difference?

The ITG2 machines are nothing short of awesome. The pads are very responsive and are better than any DDR machine that I've played on to date (I haven't played on a Supernova machine yet, but I doubt if they have substansially changed the design for the platform used) and worth getting.

New ITG2 dedicab pads are really responsive, and work a lot better than just upgrading a DDR machine to the ITG software. You don't really have to move your feet at all for them to respond, which can be a big help in conserving stamina for the insane crap that ITG throws at you in general. I've played on a few dedicabs, and only one I played on really sucked, and that was still pretty responsive, even when compared to some of the decent DDR machine pads that I've played on.

Anyway, between the two, there IS a noticeable difference, especially if it's new, because they are just so responsive.

On another note, I've played on a Supernova machine, and there is little to no difference in the pads. I couldn't honestly tell if they were even new or not.

The Supernova design hasn't changed, well it looks like it hasn't changed, but the response is much better. I was pretty impressed the first time I played SuperNOVA that the pads were actually working! lol

Wasn't the first wave of ITG2 cabinets the one made by Andamiro? If so, I'm sure they're fantastic; Pump It Up pads are responsive, and noticably more durable than DDR pads (they'll still need replacing eventually, though).

Thanks everyone who helped me out with this. I don't think its worth getting and upgrade so I'll just try to talk my arcade into getting a ITG2 Dedicab.. they probably won't tho. Thanks everyone, this thread can be closed.
