Total Tokens: 225.61 Donate Tokens | Which bemani is the most popular ? Hey guys, just wondering if any of you had any figures or info about which bemani series are the most popular in japan and worldwide.
Here in europe it seems obvious that DDR is the most popular, followed by IIDX, and then all the others (Pop'n, GF&DM...).
Things seem to be different in japan (I'd say pop'n and iidx are much more successful there), but I couldn't find any figures.
thanx =)

1. DrumMania
2. Guitar Freaks
3. Dance Dance Revolution
4. Dance ManiaX
5. pop'n music and beatmania 5-key - TIED

A. doesn't know how to play.
B. is too lazy to try some of the harder songs.
C. interprets a "really good player" as someone who can beat Butterfly on Standard.

A lot of arcades will carry some form of IIDX while in the Metropolitan Tokyo area I'm inclined to think that the arcades there keep up with the latest versions of IIDX and pop'n.

However - IIDX seems to have a more dedicated fanbase than pop'n does. More of the same people will frequent the same machine more often than a typical pop'n machine. I personally know a dozen friends that I play with while I'm here, while only a few from pop'n - even just from lazing around.
This is strictly from a local perspective though. I've not much information according to national statistics.

I had trouble finding IIDX machines sometimes, but DM and GF were almost always there. I'd actually go out and say DM is the next for popularity in terms of play. Last I heard from the charts for arcade games, Pop'n was #1 and DM was like 3rd? IIDX was 7th I believe. I'm not sure how current that was but it gives you a general idea.

DDR, followed by drummania (no IIDX )

But one thing doesn't change: Pop' Music is one of the most popular bemani in japan...
SO I think we can safely assume that Pop'n IS the most popular in Japan?

Latin America: Pump
Japan: Popn, IIDX, Gitadora, DDR (this is just speculation, seeing as how there are people who visited/living in japan)
Europe: IIDX, DDR, Pump, Popn, ITG(?) (again speculation)
