despite the fact that the ath 700's are pretty good at 100, they get knocked out by other headphones at the 200 dollar pricepoint.

i believe that none of the ATH headphones are worth their price if only SQ is considered, but a lot of ATH designs are worth the extra price.

take a look at the ATH-ES7. i think that Audio technica is doing pretty well in the design department.

Calm down. It's a hell of a lot better than the days when half the first page was always locked threads. Somebody asked a question that got answered?!! Oh my God, then we have to lock it ASAP or an actual discussion might break out!!!

Yeah, that sucked.

I'm surprised that Konami hasn't made IIDX headphones. I know they made special Pop'n 14 ones that you could get in the LE.

I'm not terribly concerned about sound insulation, they may bleed like crazy but the quality of the sound more than makes up for it. I also like that you can wear them over your shoulders in a fairly comfortable fashion, and the most important thing is comfort. ATH-EM headphones are so amazingly comfortable that I cannot go back to in-ear buds.

You know, considering that Konami was responsible for the Persona 3 LE with the ATH-EM's I really would not be surprised if at some point down the line they released an LE with Audio Technica headphones.

I never opened my pop'n fever headphones, does anyone know what brand those are?

they definitely strive to be xylish indeed, though I have noticed some quality issues in the materials. For example for the original price of the ath-pro700's ($200+) they weren't very sturdy. Also I picked up the SQ5's for my friend and those feel incredibly flimsy (though they only cost $60-$70)

but hey, I guess utada hikaru wore em in a video D:

Yeah that's the job of the moderators. Lemme break it down for you in a list
  1. someone makes a thread asking a question
  2. people respond to question either answering it or being an idiot and jsut posting to post
  3. OP gets his/her question answered and the thread has no purpose anymore.
  4. Instead of letting a dead horse get beaten, until the only thing able to recognize it are dental records, the moderator comes and locks the thread on the grounds that the question has been answered.
There are other reasons for a thread to be locked but that's the example you gave.

It's not that we don't want discussion, its that we already know what will happen after the question gets answered and we allow people to continue shitting it up for no reason.

That's not to say there are no times when a thread that has already had the OP question answered is kept open, it's just that the examples of such a thread are few and far between.

And yeah this shouldn't be in the IIDX section. BRB moving.

Nice try, but that's a horrible justification for a terrible system. And stop acting like it's universal mod behavior. Plenty of boards work just fine without the lock-happy mentality I've seen around here in the past (which has been toned down recently, thank god).

The most annoying aspect of this system you're so quick to defend is that everyone has to start a new thread to make a comment or ask a follow-up question, when on any normal board, they'd have been able to just bump a previous thread. And then that new thread gets locked immediately... causing yet another thread to spawn down the line. And on and on.
