Also, Dreamcube, Akira Yamaoka did do some sound work for Silent Hill 4. He's done sound work since the beginning, and has expanded into other production aspects for that series. As for actual sound effects, I know he's done it for some of the Silent Hill games, but I can't tell you if it was JUST him doing the sound effects for the fourth.
