My wife and I are heading to Japan for a wedding in less than two months, so while I'm there I plan to take full advantage of the fact that imports here in America aren't imports there. In other words, I plan to save some money. Save money by spending money. See how that works?
I've noticed that some titles are a bit harder to find, like the Best Hits titles for Pop'n and Beatmania. What else in the Bemani and general rhythm category should I keep an eye out for? For that matter, what other games might I save a bit of money on by buying them so close to the original source (ie. Japan)?

Almost anything used will be less expensive there than here (but hard to find). However, reselling Bemani is not a profitable enterprise. Stick to the ones you want to have for yourself.*
(*Though if you bring back a PPP game + controller, I wouldn't say no...)

What's impressive on this game were the songs were exactly what you'll hear like in the arcades/console (yeah, it's not crap MIDI). However, this game only has an monochrome version.

But if you do for whatever reason get BMWS, make sure you get an original Wonderswan because the turntable doesn't fit on the SwanCrystal (and I'm not sure about WSC but I wouldn't take any chances)
And also get the headphone adaptor because the Wonderswan's internal speaker is probably the shittiest speaker in the whole world. But with headphones the sound really is amazing

But still, I guess nothing beats the experience of having it played on an actual WS with its snap-on turntable.

I was bored and was browsing system16, and saw some pretty weird konami games, such as Popn' stage and DDR Karaoke Mix(wtf?) I'm sure this is old news to everyone, but has anyone ever actually seen those? Is it possible its still somewhere in the corners of Japanese arcades? System 16 - Bemani Karaoke Hardware (Konami)

System 16 - Bemani Karaoke Hardware (Konami) | yeah, I think I stumbled upon a pop'n stage machine one time, I wasn't into bemani then so I took one look and said "dude, I'm 12, WAY too old for that stuff"
shame I didn't try, I would have gotten violently told.
